michiI talked to my sweet almost daughter-in-law today and ended up calling her on the telephone. She is stressing over preparing for her upcoming wedding to my son. She is really a doll and has been planning everything herself with my son having been deployed for the past year and a half. Now its time for him to come home and the wedding will follow shortly there after.

I could sense her stress over the computer and called her. She’s having a hard time getting an idea of who will and who won’t be at the wedding. Since the wedding is in Germany most of my family won’t be able to go. Its also just a couple of days before Christmas which makes it even more complicated. She said she’s afraid there’ll only be 50 people there! I told her that’s actually a pretty good turnout considering hardly any of my son’s side of the family will be able to make the trip. Plus, it doesn’t matter how many people are there. Its just about them finally being able to get on with their lives after his long absence.

I think my (almost) daughter-in-law deserves flowers! I’m glad that my son has been sending her flowers pretty regularly while he’s been deployed.

Its a great way to let someone know how special they are!
