Chuck SchumerThe democrats are getting more and more desperate to explain away their inability to get anything done. They’ve had power for a year and still nothing is done. They are doing what they do, which is to blame others for their shortcomings. Typically, nothing is their fault. Forever the victims, its someone else’s fault. Of course, that means its the President’s fault, the Republican’s fault, the country’s fault. Its the fault of anyone other then the eternal adolescents fault.

They think they were voted into office by people who were against the battle in Iraq. In fact, they were voted into office by default. People were not happy with the Republican leadership at the time and the dems were the benefactors of that. Unfortunately for them, there doesn’t seem to be an adult in the house (literally) and they are so busy pointing fingers and assessing blame they can’t seem to get a thing done.

Now they have taken to pandering to the lowest levels of their constituency … the nutroots.

The democrats seem to think they can redeem themselves by cutting off funding to the Troops. Schumer went so far as to state: “The days of a free lunch are over.”

They seem to think this will make the American people happy. At least they think it will get them votes. They want to leave our Troops in harms way without funding.

This is one constituent that WILL NOT BE HAPPY AT ALL if they continue to do such an outrageous thing. Cut out your pork. Cut out your own salaries. Quit lining your own pockets. I don’t care. Don’t cut funding for the Troops and for our national security.

We are at war and our ‘representatives’ want to cut funding for the war. I’d be willing to bet that this level of politicizing a war is unprecedented. What a bunch of lunatics!

Here’s More ….

The Weekly Standard says its all bluster to satisfy their constituents during the holidays and then pay the bills when no one will be paying attention. Unfortunately, that won’t work.

The only logical conclusion is that Congress intended to head off for Christmas and New Year’s, bragging to their constituents that they’ve not given in; that they’ll force the White House to come around. Then they could cave after the holidays–perhaps in February, when all attention is focused on the primaries.

But the Pentagon made it clear yesterday that their funding plan will not work, and that Congressional Democrats will pay a heavy political price if they fail to act soon. In a briefing yesterday, Secretary Gates saidif Congress does not approve the president’s funding request, they will have no choice but to begin furlowing civilian employees. They will begin to notify those employees of their involuntary furloughs a few weeks before Christmas. The Department of Defense asserts that this move is unavoidable if the Dems continue to play games with the funding request.

Congressional Democrats’ latest attempt to leave our troops in Iraq high and dry comes in the form of amendments to, of all things, the Water Resources Development Act.

Michelle Malkin notes that Congress has not managed to do a single thing since President Bush requested emergency war funding 280 days ago.

This Ain’t Hell … but you Can See it From Here

So, the party that claimed to be the party of fiscal responsibility won’t pass a defense bill in the time of war.
