I am sick as a dog. There’s so much interesting going on to blog about and I’m just sitting here like a lump and can’t seem to get a thing done. Blah! I hate being sick. I have way too much to do to be just sitting here, but I’m pathetic!

Its my sister’s fault, btw. I blame her completely just cause I can! ( ?:-) )

All pity is gratefully accepted.

Jackie Mason, the Ultimate Jew, rebuts criticism that was heaped on him by Ron Paul supporters regarding Mason’s Ron Paul vlog #71. He makes sure that he differentiates between Ron Paul and what Ron Paul preaches. In other words, separates the person from the words. Which I’m sure is kinder than what I would do.
If the world wants the United States to ‘quit meddling’ than I’m left to wonder if that means that we should quit sending all the money, aid and manpower we send throughout the world in times of crisis. Whenever there is a tsunami, earthquake, famine, drought or other disaster you can bet the United States will be there with assistance. Even when we were bombing Afghanistan we were simultaneously dropping food and supplies for the civilians on the ground.
What other country does that without fail?
We didn’t do anything to precipitate Pearl Harbor and we did nothing to precipitate 9/11 - unless it was avoiding conflict that had begun decades earlier.

Newsbusters is reporting that there wasn’t enough room for private jet parking at the United Nations Climate Conference. The LearJet Liberals who were gathering at a perfectly lovely tropical island to discuss their dire concerns for the environment and how they were going to convince us common folk that we simply must give up some of our luxuries to save the world. You know, luxuries like … say … taking a bath on a regular basis.
Its highly inconvenient that they will have to find somewhere else to park their planes. There are just too many of them for the local airport to handle. Because of this inconvenient truth, most of the VIPs are going to have to dropped off and have their planes fly on over to somewhere else to park in Indonesia. They will then be picked up and dropped off as needed with the planes traveling to and fro from Indonesia. Oh the inconvenience!
Its obvious that us little people are going to have to be a lot more diligent in our sacrifices so that those who are enlightened and need to get together to discuss this crisis won’t have to be inconvenienced like this in the future.
Even the money for carbon offsets they have sent to Al Gore has not been able to make a dent in the drastic shortage of learjet parking!!! When one can not find room enough to park a jet than you know that we are surely doomed!
Elizabeth Kucinich gives an interview and says that her husband would ‘absolutely’ consider running with Ron Paul.
That would be the Truther/Truther ticket. Maybe it would be the Dumb and Dumber ticket. Either way, it would be a sad day for America. I’m willing to bet that the leftist press will be touting that as a legitimate Republican ticket soon in hopes of splitting the Republican vote. That would be their only hope of getting a democrat into the White House.

The New York Times just can’t stand that we are trying to enforce immigration laws in this country. There was an article in the Old Gray Lady Sunday morning that was titled: “Immigrant Workers Caught in Net Cast for Gangsâ€. An Angeleno’s View of the World points out that the title should have been Illegal Aliens Caught in Net Cast for Illegal Alien Gang Members.
The NY Times article insist on calling the illegal immigrants ‘immigrants’ and has a sympathetic attitude towards those who enter this country illegally.
At one house where the agents were looking for Mr. Fuentes, they arrested three men who had been asleep in separate bedrooms when an aunt opened the door. Two were cousins from El Salvador, Marvin Lopez, 21, a packer of baby vegetables at Satur Farm in Cutchogue, and Omar Lopez, 25, a Shelter Island landscaper, who had been asleep with his fiancée and infant son. The third man, Valentin Rudy Escobar Montenegro, a Guatemalan carpenter, also was with his wife and baby…… from a separate apartment upstairs — four Guatemalan landscapers who had worked for the same Shelter Island company for five years.â€
Ahh …. yeah … but they are breaking the law because they are in this country illegally.
The Times is busy crying out for the ‘rights’ of those who are here illegally. They call them ‘immigrants’ or ‘migrants’. In other words, they don’t get the point at all. We probably all know people who are waiting to get here LEGALLY but are being shoved back further towards the back of the line because of the influx of the illegal aliens.
The American people do not want to continue to pay higher and higher taxes to support those who come here illegally and take full advantage of our generous system without abiding by our laws or contributing to the system in any way.
Its like the leftists have a collective suicidal wish for our society.
My darlin’ daughter im’d me a while ago and accused me as only she can do, ‘hey where is my bday tribute on your blog?’. Yikes! I’m a terrible mother. I called her several times today and sang happy birthday to her. I talked with her a number of times on Yahoo messenger. I talked to her extensively about what all she had done and is going to do for her birthday, but I hadn’t written to her on my blog. How could I neglect her so badly? She’s already pointed out to me that I write much more about Soldier Son than I do about her to begin with. Never mind that the name of this blog was derived from the Blue Star banners!
She knows I love her more than anything but apparently I started a new tradition when I wrote a happy birthday tribute to her last year and she looked for it on my blog today and it wasn’t there. That means I’m a terrible mother!
Maybe I didn’t because it reminds me that she’s catching up with me in age!!! I don’t know how that is happening, but it is. She left about a year ago to go out west and seek her fortune - and find her future. I told her at the time that she was at the age where she will be putting down roots and does she really want to put down roots in California (read that to be, do you really want to leave ME!). She left anyway, against our advice, and drove herself in her little car all the way across the country with no idea where she’d work or live. She’s never had a shortage of raw courage.
I told myself at the time that she’d get it out of her system and would be back home shortly. All was going according to *my* plan as she had trouble finding a job at first and was having to work several jobs just to get by. She was meeting a few people, but things hadn’t really clicked for her. I was sympathetic while keeping her room ready for her return. She called me when she had been there about six months and said that when her six month lease expired she thought she’d return home and look for a job here. Oh - okay - I could deal with that. BUT she said, she was going out that evening with a guy she had met at work. She’d call me the next day to work out the details. Ut - oh.
I had heard her talk of this guy from the time she had gone to work. She insisted they were just friends, but I heard more than friends in the tone of her voice. They hadn’t been out on a date, but they were good friends. Nothing else to it she had told me. And now, on the very eve of her deciding to trek back to the right side of the country she was going out on a date with this guy who was just a good friend and they weren’t
dating. I felt my heart sink.
Sure enough. The next day she called and there was no talk of her coming home when her lease was up. The conversation was just her gushing about how much fun she’d had and how she really liked this guy - the one that was just her friend. I knew at that point I had lost my daughter to California. I’m still bummed about it. I miss her terribly. But I am glad she is happy with her life and is enjoying her youth.
I blame the guy! If only he had waited a little longer to ask her out. Well, you know I’m kidding. I really just want her to be happy and I would not want a child who didn’t want to venture out into their own life. But I do miss my little darlin’. She’s the best daughter in the world and I am very happy that we have a good relationship.
Happy Birthday sweetie - you are the best and I’m glad you are having a good time!

Shame on the British Women who did this ….
Injured soldiers who lost their limbs fighting for their country have been driven from a swimming pool training session by jeering members of the public.
The men, injured during tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, were taking part in a rehabilitation session at a leisure centre, when two women demanded they be removed from the pool. They claimed that the soldiers “hadn’t paid” and might scare the children.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The unpleasant scenes broke out at Leatherhead Leisure Centre in Surrey when the wounded veterans, who are at Headley Court Military Hospital, had to use the 25-metre public pool because the hydro-pool at the defence rehabilitation centre is not big enough for swimming.
The servicemen were about to begin their weekly swimming therapy in closed-off lanes when they were verbally abused by the swimmers.
One woman in her 30s was said to be infuriated by the lane closures saying the soldiers did not deserve to be there when she had paid.
It was also reported that others complained that limbless servicemen were scaring children at the centre.
The atmosphere was said to be so tense that the soldiers’ instructors removed them.
Charles Murrin, 79, a Navy veteran who saw the incident, said: “The woman said the men do not deserve to be in there and that she pays to come in the pool and they don’t. I spoke to the instructor in the changing room afterwards and he was livid.”
The general British public is outraged at the selfish obnoxious behavior of these women …
The incident has sparked widespread condemnation. Adml Lord Boyce, a former head of the Armed Forces, said last night the women should be “named and shamed”.
“These people are beneath contempt and everything should be done to get their names and publish them in the press,” he said. “It is contemptible that people who have given up their limbs for their country should be so abused when they are trying to get fit again.”
It comes after calls for the public to do more to welcome home troops back from tours of duty and to recognise the bravery of those fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I agree, they SHOULD be named and shamed. Apparently, this same neighborhood has acted with no class before by objecting that a home in the area be converted into a hostel for families of injured soldiers’ so that they could stay nearby while their loved one is recuperating at Headley Court.
These people should be shamed. Their sanctimonious objections to having to see injured soldiers is outrageous. They should be grateful to these soldiers and tell their children to honor them, not to fear them. These are the men that have paid an enormous price so that these ridiculous women can spend leisure time in a pool rather than in a burka.
These soldiers have certainly paid for the right to swim in a pool. The women have only opened up a checkbook and their fees are embarrassingly minuscule in relation to what the soldiers have paid. They’ve paid a price these ridiculous silly women will never comprehend.

Iran: We have nuke fuel pellets
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran has produced its own nuclear fuel pellets of enriched uranium for the first time to power its under construction heavy water research reactor, Vice President Gholam Reza Aghazadeh said Saturday according to the state news agency.
Iran has long been working on its uranium enrichment capability to fuel its developing nuclear power program, including a 40-megawatt heavy water nuclear reactor under construction in Arak in the center of the country. The announcement indicates they have finally completed the nuclear fuel cycle.
The U.S. and its allies have called to a halt to the enrichment process which it says could be used to produce weapons, a charge Iran denies.
“Fuel pellets to be used in the 40-megawatt Arak research reactor have been produced,” IRNA quoted Aghazadeh as saying Saturday.
Producing enriched uranium fuel pellets is the final stage in a long process that begins with extracting the uranium ore, converting into a concentrate called yellow cake before processing into a gas that then has to be enriched using centrifuges.
Aghazadeh, who is also the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, said they are already testing the fuel pellets and the fuel rods produced at its nuclear fuel production facilities in Isfahan, central Iran.
Just a couple of weeks ago Ahmadinejad was boasting that Iran had started uranium enrichment and now we learn that they have succeeded. About the same time they made that annoucement, they gave a graphic diagram illustrating what they wanted to do with their nuclear capabilities.
And the beat goes on ….. how safe does this make you feel?

Have you ever seen the Northern Lights? Aurora Borealis? I saw them once. It was one of those events that you don’t forget. Waves of color slow danced across the night sky one cold and clear night when we lived up north. Our paths crossed that one cold and clear night by sheer coincidence because the lights were further south than usual and we were further north than usual.
We almost missed seeing it. Our Soldier Son was playing outside as he almost always was. It didn’t matter how cold it was, he was outside playing. He was in elementary school. Our daughter was upstairs in her room. My Beloved Curmudgeon and myself were in our den just watching television. Our son came running into the house to excitedly tell us that we needed to come outside and see the Northern Lights. We smiled and told him that we weren’t far enough north to see the Northern Lights, it was undoubtedly something else he was seeing. Perhaps it was the trail of an airplane reflecting the moonlight or something along those lines.
He went back out and came back in again. He kept insisting it was the Northern Lights and we kept explaining that it couldn’t be. My Beloved Curmudgeon had been born and raised in Michigan and had never seen the Northern Lights that far south. It just wasn’t what our son thought it was. Soldier son got more and more frustrated. Finally, I condescended to go outside and look. I was just going to pacify him. I didn’t really want to go outside because my southern genes just flat out rebelled at the very idea of adjusting my body temperature to anything that would come close to adjusting to the climate of Michigan. But I did go out just past the porch door to look at the sky so I could reassure my son that it wasn’t the Northern Lights he was seeing.
When I looked up to the sky I did indeed see the Northern Lights. I could barely believe it. I stepped back in and told my daughter and husband to come out. So there we stood in our driveway on that cold Michigan winter night watching a light show that could only have been produced by the hand of God. It was spectacular.
