Your business card is often the little reminder you leave with someone to remind them of who you are. Most business people get hundreds of business cards. We have hundreds of meetings and meet hundreds of people. How do you differentiate who is who and what they are about.
You may not think about it much, but much of your marketing is through your business card. Everyday run of the mill business cards are fine, but uninspiring. Sloppy business cards are sure to lose business for you. A well made, tasteful card tells your potential customer or associate that you are someone who knows how to do business.
When I think of business cards I always think about an attorney I was going to do some business with a while back. He had come to me about a joint venture he was interested in participating with us in. He left me his card as he left. He was impressive and his ideas were good but his business card had a spelling error and had the telephone number marked out with another number written in underneath it. All the effort he had put into impressing me with his innovative ideas went out the window when I later looked at the sloppiness of his business card. It literally made me second guess whether or not I wanted to call him and venture out on this endeavor with him.
If you want to make an impression, you want to make the RIGHT impression. If you are an artist you will want to make a different kind of impression than someone who is an MBA. That’s why its a great idea to look at unique business cards and find the right card for expression who YOU are and what you have to offer. Your business card will leave an impression with whoever you leave it with. Let them know what it is that you have to bring to the table!
