This is great news for people who have to take the ACLS exam every couple of years. I know someone who has to take it once every two years and it is a real pain to take the course and then the exam at a location that isn’t particularly close to home. Its also very expensive. Now it is offered online.

The American Medical Resource Institute is offering the courses for the ACLS (Adult Cardiac Life Support) and the PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) completely online. Everything you need to get your course credits to maintain your certification is available. The courses use a framework of 10 clinical cases plus quite a few supplemental cases to help the practitioner to be able to utilize the core ACLS concepts in preparation for the provider certification examination. Each module provides the educational information needed as well as a pretext. Appendices are provided that can be accessed throughout the program that address pharmacology and ECG recognition.

This course is geared towards the first-time candidate as well as teh practitioner who is seeking a more in-depth review of the material. Once you have completed the educational course and feel that you are ready, you can take the provider certification exam.
