I’m wondering if I’m the only person who is SICK TO DEATH of the caucuses. At this point I’m thinking we have almost a year till the election and we are already having ‘election results’ and ‘projections’. BLAH BLAAAAHHHHH.

Too much too soon.

I’m sick to death of it already.

Beloved Curmudgeon changed the channel to watch CSI and they keep interrupting the show to give caucus results and projections. They started it when there was 2% of the vote in - something like 2,000 people had voted. PPLLLEEAAASSSSEEEEEE ….. We changed the channel cause we are sick of hearing names like Obama, Clinton, Huckabee, McCain, Romney. We are tired of hearing their names, tired of hearing their voices, tired of hearing the talking heads telling us what every inflection in their voices means and what every voter thinks when he/she walks into or out of a voting place. PLLLEEEAAASSSEEEEEE!!!! Shut up and just run the country. Let us watch CSI in peace without interrupting every few minutes to tell us one more thing about Clinton or Romney. Its making my head explode!

They are actually interrupting themSELVES to interpret what the interpretations mean. At this point I’m so sick of them all that I’d be tempted to throw the whole bunch out and start over just to give us something fresh to think about in November. We are going to be sick of the next president before they ever even get into office.

Things that are particularly irritating tonight:

  • Someone has obviously told Hilary to keep her voice low. She’s gotten even MORE affected in her speech apparently trying not to sound shrill and hysterical. Its irritating.
  • I’m sick to death of people calling Edwards the ‘fighter’. Please, his puffy soft hands haven’t ever seen a real fight in their pampered life.
  • I’m sick to death of being told that Obama is making history by being African American candidate. I don’t care what his ethnic orientation is. I do care that if he’s going to run for president he should run for president of ALL the people, not just part of the people. I don’t think we should have a woman, a black, a Mormon or any other hyphenated American as president just to prove a point that they can be elected. That’s irritating. This isn’t about PROVING a black/woman/Mormon can be elected, its about who will RUN OUR COUNTRY!!! Quit talking about how Obama is bring ‘reconciliation’ between Whites and Blacks while you are creating separation and preferences in the same sentence. That’s not reconciliation. That’s division. He should run as an American - period.
  • It irritates me that they keep talking about how much money Romney has. He’s not the only one that has spent a fortune on their campaign. Obama and Hilary for instance. Whatever they spend, it irritates the PEEDOODLE out of me that you have to have THAT much money to run for president. And we wonder where greatness is - Abraham Lincoln couldn’t get elected today because he wouldn’t have been rich enough. You shouldn’t have to BUY the presidency of the United States.
  • Quit telling me that Hillary is the ‘experience’ candidate. WHAT?? What is her experience?? My husband is a dentist. Do you want ME drilling on your teeth? I didn’t think so. I have NO experience in dental stuff - Hilary DOESN’t have experience as president. Do we REALLY want Bill Clinton in the White House again?? No - I didn’t think so.
  • QUIT analyzing every little detail of what it means that people in Iowa voted for Huckabee. What he did. What he said. How many evangelicals voted for him. BLAHBLAHBLAH. Sickening. People liked him and his message. Nuff said. All the analysis is wearing everybody out.

Okay - I think I have that out of my system now. I still don’t know who I’m going to vote for. I might end up voting for the one that I’m not the sickest of hearing about from Chris Wallace (who disgusts me) by November 2008. Not really. I have some ideas - but I can guarantee you its not going to be on the recommendation of any of these idiots on the cable news.
