It seems that an awful lot of people, especially young people talk about having music careers. I’d be willing to bet that most, and probably by far most, don’t have any idea what having a music career entails. You might have a great singing voice or be a real virtuoso on the piano, but there is an entire element of careers in music that have absolutely nothing to do with the raw musical talent you have.
In order to have success with careers in music you have to also be able to excel in the business end of the music business. The Artists House Music Foundation is dedicated to working with their clients by explaining the business side of the music business through video interviews with top industry leaders, musicians and professors. They offer master level classes and concerts taught by famous musicians while they perform. The Artists House Music Foundation website is run by John Snyder who is a multi-Grammy award winning artist and head of the Music Industry Studies department of Loyola University in New Orleans. You can find interviews by artists such as Murder Inc. (The Inc.) producer Irv Gotti, Bob Jamieson (former head of RCA Records), Randy Newman, Interscope president Jimmy Iovine and Allman Brothers bassist Oteil Burbridge.
If you are really interested in finding out about jobs in the music industry and learning what it takes to be successful in the music industry you will want to start out by checking out the information at the Artists House Foundation website.

How wonderful to see words of wisdom about the business of music. Musicians with lengthy careers have to be skilled at marketing themselves. Thanks for the useful posting.
