Thanks Donna - I agree. He has been in the Senate long enough that he has voted on and taken a stand on enough issues that he can be held to task much more than someone who has not been around long enough to have taken a stand on anything.

I respect his record as well.

James, how do you cross him off your list without knowing the facts? you aren’t the only patriot here, you know.

As Senior Senator from Arizona, McCain has fought for years to tighten border security, stop illegal immigration, increase workplace enforcement and to resist â€œamnestyâ€ for those who entered the country without authorization.

Even his chief opponent right now admits that McCain’s position doesn’t amount to ‘amnesty’ or ‘open borders’. McCain has resisted the temptation to make sound-bite statements that have no substance. He has looked at realistic and long-term fixes for a very complicated problem.

I want a President who will defend our country, support our Troops and is a TRUE AMERICAN. I want a President who is not all slogans and no substance. That’s John McCain.

The animus centers on the McCain position as co-author of the anti-citizen pro-illegal alien postions he has taken with great fervor over the past several years. He has voted repeatedly for amnesty and has been vocal in its support.

That is enough for patriotic citizens who support the rule of law to cross him off our list of possible presidential candidates.

With McCain we get 12-20 million new citizens who have crossed into the USA illegally, to get on the public dole. They are disease carriers of pathogens thought to be eradicated in the US. They are a public health menace at the very least.

The US needs comprehensive immigration law enforcement!
