MSNBC’s David Schuster made the fatal mistake of making a statement that could be in any way remotely misconstrued as critical of the Clintons. Worse still, he made reference to Chelsea Clinton. That’s a definite no-no. Criticize the Bush twins to your hearts content, but don’t dare say anything about Chelsea, even innocently.
Schuster has been indefinitely suspended from his job for saying “Doesn’t it seem as if Chelsea is sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way?” according to The Washington Post.
MSNBC suspended correspondent David Shuster yesterday for an undetermined period for making a disparaging on-air remark about Chelsea Clinton. Meanwhile, officials in her mother’s campaign raised the possibility of punishing the news channel by boycotting future debates.
Now most of us know that ‘pimping’ doesn’t mean exactly what it used to mean. Its taken on a different hue in the big scheme of things and is used in pop culture fairly frequently for entirely different meaning. That doesn’t matter to the word police though. Heaven forbid. The party of ‘free speech’ is busy squashing free speech at every turn.
If you’ve noticed Chelsea is out and about for photo op after photo op but no one ever hears her speak. I hope she speaks at the million dollar a year job her parents got her as soon as she graduated. She’s not allowed to speak to the press.
We see John McCain’s daughter speaking out and taking whatever hits come her way (I hope you’ve seen her blog). The Bush twins have been subjected to all sorts of derisive remarks. They all take it in stride because, one would guess, they are being raised to handle the world as we live in it. Chelsea on the other hand is not, it would appear.
Seriously, Clinton needs to chill out. Chelsea shows up at all the press events but doesn’t do press. If Hillary has to stop free speech and freedom of expression over such a minor infraction, what would it be like if she were to be President? Would she destroy the career of anyone who says anything negative about anyone she knows. I pity the poor person that is Chelsea’s employer. Don’t you know there’s no way he could ever reprimand or fire her! That might make Hillary tear up again and I don’t think any of us could take that.
BTW, David Shuster was right!

The liberal press is so anti-free speech, it’s amazing. Let’s hope that a Democrat isn’t put in the White House, or our freedoms will be further limited. All this PC crap is just that.

Just because the Clintons don’t like it ,doesn’t make it not true. He said what many of us have thought all along. He was 100% in the right and the Clintons need to STFU.

The ultimate determinant in the struggle now going on for the world will not be bombs and rockets but a test of wills and ideas-a trial of spiritual resolve: the values we hold, the beliefs we cherish and the ideals to which we are dedicated.

i agree. if he is allowed to vociferously attack the bush twins and other daughters of prominant politicians, then chelsea is fair game.
