At about 3:45 a.m. this morning there was an explosion at the U.S. Military recruiting station on 43rd and 8th in New York’s Times Square.
Witnesses described the explosion as loud enough ‘to be heard at the Marriott Marquis Hotel’ and described seeing a puff of smoke. A man was seen leaving the scene on a bicycle.
As of the time of this writing, the area has been cordoned off and police tape is keeping early morning traffic from entering the area. All subways in the vicinity are also diverted.
This story is still developing. The picture above is of an empty Times Square.

Beth -
I tried to reach you via e-mail but it bounced back.
I was brought on by Sen. Cornyn’s campaign to outreach to the online community and bloggers throughout the state. As you know Senator Cornyn is running for re-election this year and he isn’t taking anything for granted.
The campaign launched a new blog at http://blog.johncornyn.com and we have a blog roll of supportive bloggers that we’d love to have you be a part of.
The Senator also plans on doing blogger conference calls and we’d love to be able to invite you onto those.
Please let me know if you’d be interested in participating with us or if you have any questions.
I noticed one of your big issues is the war on terror. If you’d ever like to try and ask the Senator a few questions via a podcast, I think we could arrange something.
Thanks again for blogging and for your sons service.

We love life, they love death, let’s kill ‘em! War’s over…
I have been reading ACT! for America, and there are some pretty alarming articles. Especially if you have not been keeping up with the TRUTH of what is actually happening in the world these days. First, I will share an article by Alan Dershowitz ……..

From what i read, no one was hurt, luckily. it seems more like a message than intended to kill. i read that it was packed inside an ammunition box. the similarities in the consulate bombs are a little unnerving. i hope they get the person(s) responsible.
