barack obama and don imusI guess what’s good for the goose isn’t necessarily good for the gander as far as Obama is concerned.

“I understand MSNBC has suspended Mr. Imus,” Obama told ABC News, “but I would also say that there’s nobody on my staff who would still be working for me if they made a comment like that about anybody of any ethnic group. And I would hope that NBC ends up having that same attitude.” [source]

He didn’t worry about defending Imus. He didn’t worry about whether or not he happened to be listening to the radio station the day that Imus said something Al Sharpton decided he didn’t like. He didn’t worry about putting it all into the context that the whole schtick of Imus’ show is insulting people. He didn’t worry about the fact that Imus is an insult comedian rather than a pastor of a large church.

He doesn’t worry about making Imus’ remarks sound like they rise to the level of the years that Reverend Wright has been spewing hate filled rhetoric to whoever will listen.

He doesn’t seem to feel the need to defend Imus as he does his pastor.

He didn’t compare Imus to his grandmother.

Barack Obama is a hypocrite.
