that says something for this women to know the worth but would rather keep it in her heart, shows what a good person people can be. but now to auction it? that’s very sad. obviously not what she wanted. what a tragic end. I would just love to see things donated these days.

Lynn, I think its the other family members who are auctioning them. She never married or had children, so I’m not sure who the family members are. Obviously, they aren’t close relatives since her family was pretty much wiped out in the Titanic.

I found the story of Lily Asplund amazing, and to have the box with her fathers belongins, unbelievable. Rather than have them auctioned, could she not pass them down to other family members?.
