Today is the 4th of July, Independence Day. A day American’s celebrate the day our forefathers declared independence from Britain. Its certainly a time in which we expect statements from our leaders. Generally they make a statement to the country about their love of our country and about the importance of remembering this day in our history.
Since this is an election year, we certainly expect that the presidential candidates would put out a statement on America’s Independence Day.
Here’s what the presidential candidates had to say …..

John McCain
John McCain’s 4th of July statement from his website:
As Americans, we are blessed to live in a free country that affords its citizens liberty and prosperity that people in other countries will never know. John McCain is proud to be an American and is constantly inspired by people he meets around the country who share in his love of our nation and all it represents.
During this Independence Day weekend, please take a moment to honor America and all that we are. Also, remember our military servicemen and women who are protecting our freedom across the globe and fighting for those who do not have the liberty our great country provides. Let us never forget those who have sacrificed before us to protect the United States and the values we hold dear.

Barack Obama’s 4th of July statement:

He must be too busy campaigning to make a 4th of July statement.
….. but don’t question his patriotism.

He was too busy trying to explain the flip-flopping he’s been doing over his Iraq surrender policy…

Obama was too busy talking to real people.

Words spoken from a patriot versus Obama who has to explain his patriotism.

‘America wins War in Iraq’ I’ll be the first to say that so Osamma Obama doesn’t get to.
I read a good blog post yesterday about Spiegle, a German ‘left wing’ news magazine saying that things are getting much better for the Iraqi people.
Since the war began I had supported the U.S. President’s stand and the ‘concern for WMD’.
The U.S. found a big W.M.D. as far as I’m concerned, hiding in a hole in the ground and handed him over for disposal. It’s somewhat of a sad story but that’s what happens if you support Yasser Arafat, invade Kuwait and prefer Oil to Food for kids.
Happy Independance Day Yankee.
O yes, we have forgiven your invasion America but not forgotten.
Madison had his ‘hat handed back’ and ‘Brock his tail between his legs’.We have Laura Secord chocolates and you have Dolly Madison cakes and
Buchanan needs to move back to England if he wants to talk like a Yankee living at the south pole.
He’s a “Dumb American” though politically speaking he’s not necessarily always wrong.
Saw your post on the Edmund Fitzgerald to.
‘When the gails of November come early’ who can forget that classic Gorden Lightfoot song.
