The following video was done in memory of all the guys of the 1-18 who were lost in Iraq during their last deployment.
In Memory of All the Guys in 1-18 We Lost in Iraq
My son was attached to the 1-18 while he was deployed to Iraq. I get confused at how all of the attachments work. He and a handful of other Soldiers with the 1-77 were with the 1-18 at Fob Falcon in Baghdad for 15 months. Fob Falcon was located in a very rough area of Baghdad. They were there before the surge and during the first few months of the surge.
I had a hard time watching this video. Maybe it was a little too close to home for me. Still, you might want to have a Kleenex handy.
It was made by one of the guys and is in honor and memory of the men of the 1-18 who lost their lives in the Global War on Terrorism in Iraq. The song is “If You’re Reading This” by Tim McGraw.

I retired from the 1/18th Infantry in the Dark Ages when it was part of the 24th Division at Fort Benning. Thanks, Beth.
