Meet Shelly Mandel, the president of the NOW Los Angeles chapter who endorsed Sarah Palin and John McCain.
Ms. Mandel has an “originalist” view of the National Organization of Women, which was originally formed for the advancement of women in America. No woman has risen higher than a participant on a presidential ticket, so to NOW, Sarah Palin embodies the fulfillment of their charter.
But in the years since NOW was formed, the group has amorphed form supporting women’s suffrage regardless of party into a political apparatus which only supports about half of the women in America, the ones who register Democrat and support Democrat causes.
Which is why to the new crowd at NOW, the latest endorsement is a surprise. Shelly Mandel spoke up for all women in American when she supported a woman who has risen farther politically than any woman in history.

I commend Shelly Mandel for her courage, but she will probably get blacklisted by her soon to be former left-wing friends.

Palin’s policies are extremely anti-women. This endorsement is a sad setback for women in America…just gives fodder to the oppressionists who believe women use only emotion rather than good judgment in their decision-making. Shelly should be embarrassed for such an endorsement.
