Today is the sixth anniversary of the Bali Bombing. The attack on Westerners by Islamic Extremists, connected to al-Qaeda’s global jihad, killed 202 people, mostly Australians. Read about it below and see photos and videos about the bombing.
Today, relatives of the victims of the 2002 Bali Bombings gathered at the monument erected in their memory in the Kuta district of Denpasar, Indonesia. The islamic extremists who bombed a nightclub in an entertainment district on Bali were part of the al-Qaeda network of global jihad.
The islamic militants killed citizens of 20 countries, hardest hit were citizens of Australia who often vacation on Bali.
“Six years ago, 88 Australians lost their lives and many more were injured in the bombings in Bali. Today we honor their memory,” Australia’s ambassador to Indonesia, Bill Farmer, said in a speech read on behalf of Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
“We pause also to remember the 38 Indonesians and 76 people from other countries who were killed in that dreadful attack.”
As can be expected, there are conspiracy theorists who attempt to minimize the significance of the Bali bombing in the same way they do the attacks of 9/11. I’ve read reports from these conspiracy theorists that it as a US/Israeli attack to keep people on a war footing against the Middle East. It’s my belief that these people are so afraid of the islamic radicals that they have to blame the benign powers in order to make themselves feel safer.
Its important for us to remember these bombings and murders and to remember who is responsible for them. The jihadist have declared war on the West and have no intention of stopping. We ignore it at our own peril.
Today we remember Bali and those who lost their lives and loved ones to al-Qaeda terrorists.

It seems that people are forgetting the threat from terrorism, and attacks like 9/11 and the Bali bombing are becoming just a memory. People need to be reminded of the evil we face ,so we never forget what they are capable of.

“People need to be reminded of the evil we face ,so we never forget what they are capable of.”
First of all who are “they”? Sure they have the presumed mastermind in custody and ready for death row, but the guy is completely drugged up and out of his mind. A bit suspect for a mastermind.
If you can believe the western media and all the propaganda on these act of terrors, then you can believe anything. Find things out for yourself. Ask yourself who the bombing benefited? Yes, western governments in line with the Bush doctrine.
Have a look at some indimedia stuff and more importantly, keep an open mind… read this and try to question the facts.. can normal explosives strip concrete off the reinforced metal structure? http://sydney.indymedia.org.au/story/cleric-blames-cia-bali-bombing
Stop believing this hate mongering and propaganda… wake up and realise state sponsored terrorism (with the aid of the secret service, cia etc) is and has always been very common. The power structure stays in place through violent forces, not through mere politics and the illusion of democracy.
