What matters to you about the 2008 Presidential election? Is it the economy? The war? Is it the character of the man elected President? Is it promises of hope and change without any real definition of what those terms mean?
There are basic issues at stake that we, as Americans, often take for granted. There are fundamental freedoms at stake. The direction our country will take from this point on is front and center in this election. The divisions between the people of our great nation are not between the two men running for office, but between varying ideologies and beliefs.
In other words, there is a lot more going on in this election than feeling good about a man who you believe will elevate your financial worries or one who will be tough on national security. We all have our issues that mean a lot to us. But its more than our pet issues. Its a lot more.
What direction will we go? What kind of nation will we be? Its more than one or two issues. Its a lot more.
Like many people, I care about more.
