Thank You John McCain!
For John McCain, a Great American. Thank you!
Senator John McCain, you are a Great American. You gave your youth and devoted your life for the good of this country. You are one of the very few American politicians that we could know would put country first. We would sleep better at night knowing you were at the helm.
Thank you for giving us a glimpse of what kind of REAL change could have been brought to Washington. Thank you for your proven record of cleaning up corruption and courageously doing the ‘right thing’ in spite of the political risk to yourself. Thank you for your honor, courage, integrity and grit. You should be President. I truly believe you would be among the greatest of our Presidents.
You inspired many of us to stand up and fight, to work hard and to put country first. You reminded many of us that America still produces real heroes and real patriots. You gave many of us hope for a better future for our country.
As the mother of an American Soldier, I thank you for caring about our military and understanding the sacrifices made by those young men and women that so many in our country have put out of their minds. You, more than anyone, have understood how badly we need and should appreciate that thin green line that stands between us and danger. Thank you for never forgetting them. Thank you for never giving up and never giving in.
Many of our nation stand proudly with you.
Thank you and God bless you.
Beth, a Blue Star Mother
I’m going to fight to make sure every American has every reason to thank God, as I thank Him: that I’m an American, a proud citizen of the greatest country on earth, and with hard work, strong faith and a little courage, great things are always within our reach. Fight with me. Fight with me.
Fight for what’s right for our country.
Fight for the ideals and character of a free people.
Fight for our children’s future.
Fight for justice and opportunity for all.
Stand up to defend our country from its enemies.
Stand up for each other; for beautiful, blessed, bountiful America.
Stand up, stand up, stand up and fight. Nothing is inevitable here. We’re Americans, and we never give up. We never quit. We never hide from history. We make history.
Thank you, and God Bless you.

I am also amazed by other “gracious words,” as Obama put it, the defeated candidate pronounced in his concession speech.
“This is an historic election, and I recognize the special significance it has for African-Americans and for the special pride that must be theirs tonight.
I’ve always believed that America offers opportunities to all who have the industry and will to seize it. Senator Obama believes that, too.
But we both recognize that, though we have come a long way from the old injustices that once stained our nation’s reputation and denied some Americans the full blessings of American citizenship, the memory of them still had the power to wound.
A century ago, President Theodore Roosevelt’s invitation of Booker T. Washington to dine at the White House was taken as an outrage in many quarters.
America today is a world away from the cruel and frightful bigotry of that time. There is no better evidence of this than the election of an African-American to the presidency of the United States.
Let there be no reason now for any American to fail to cherish their citizenship in this, the greatest nation on Earth.
[…]
I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him, but offering our next president our good will and earnest effort to find ways to come together to find the necessary compromises to bridge our differences and help restore our prosperity, defend our security in a dangerous world, and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger, better country than we inherited.
Whatever our differences, we are fellow Americans. And please believe me when I say no association has ever meant more to me than that.”
It was actually a memorable speech. As a European, and aa a teacher as well, I think we should read loud these words in the schools. A great lesson of democracy as well as of what is called “the American Spirit” Thank you, Senator McCain, and may God bless your Great Country.

Mr. McCain,
I voted for you and was looking forward to having you as our 44th President. Unfortunately, the votes went the other way, I can only hope that our party, the Republicans, can bounce back from this TRADEGY. Im honestly afraid of what could go wrong at this point with the ROOKIE in charge now. A man like you with your experience and knowledge of the way war works could have really benefited us in this critical time. Just wanted to let you know how I personally feel about the way the votes went. I believe that the reasons for Hussein Osama winning did not have all to do with what he had to offer but because he is so much different, and thats the sign of the times right now, different is in it seems. It was definitely about race and hatred towards George W. Bush, so the majority and the others who have never voted before turned to the democratic/black side.
I remember when 9/11 hit, the American people changed and united for a time, they waved flags and people were friendly to one another all in the name of our freedom, they wanted revenge they wanted someone to pay for the innocent lives that were lost that terrible day. George W. Bush said the war that could take place, would be a long and tough fought war, people backed him. Now look at them, back peddling in the thick of things. We needed you in the White House right now. I can only wait to see what happens now.
