Sarah Palin pardons a turkey named Tom for Thanksgiving. Its a lovely thought even though we know that many thousands of turkeys will find themselves splayed out and golden brown at the center of our dinning room tables next week.
A lot of people on the left are having a great time making fun of the fact that just following Palin’s turkey pardon, she gave a press conference outside of the turkey house and there were turkeys having their heads chopped off right behind her in full view of the cameras.
Here’s the video. If you have never been on a farm and are squeamish, you might not want to watch the video.
Palin Pardons Turkey - Video
Like I said, the left blogsphere is having a ball with this. They are loving using this as an example of how Sarah Palin is a brutal, insensitive and not too bright person. Of course, they will undoubtedly be eating turkey, or some vegan version of turkey, for Thanksgiving. The only difference is they are likely to get their turkey frozen and completely unrecognizable as a turkey, neatly packaged from the grocery store.
Just so you know, turkeys DO come from somewhere.

It’s good that libs are all a twitter over this. Just another example of what is a priority for them in public affairs, turkeys, and not the spoof kind. They may be worried that their own are being slaughtered. Gobble, gobble, gobble.

Absolutely the most hilarious video I have ever seen - I am still laughing almost 8 hours later.

I just saw another video of the same interview (by another network) that was done directly in front of her so that the turkeys were the backdrop rather than the area where they are slaughtered. It gave a completely different feel for the video.
NBC obviously situation themselves and their camera angle to get the slaughter in the background.

this interview demonstrates Sarah Palin’s cunning ability to use the media for her own ends. For example, the turkey in the background is designed to appear accidental… in reality she put that flailing bird directly behind her to warn anyone who might oppose her rise to power: Submit now or die.
