Iran has responded to Obama’s offer to open talks between the two countries as proof that the United States and western ideology is a failure. Read about it below.
One of Barack Obama’s talking points during his campaign for the Presidency was that he would fix everything in the Middle East. One of his specifics was that he would talk with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. It seems that the far left felt that President Bush was a dinosaur for insisting that Ahmadinejad quit threatening to kill every Jew on the planet before he’d provide him with legitimacy by having talks with a sitting US President.
Obama seems to have read directly from the book of Neville Chamberlain who believed he had the diplomatic skills to stop Hitler. Chamberlain’s belief in his own diplomatic skills nixed an assassination plot that might very well have stopped Hitler before the official beginning of World War II, delayed the entry of France and Britain into the war and effectively turned a big chunk of Europe over to the Third Reich. In other words, Chamberlain’s arrogance and naivte cost untold lives and human suffering.
Just as Hitler used Chamberlain’s willingness to compromise to his own advantage, it seems that Iran’s Ahmadinejad is prepared to do the same with Obama. Ahmadinejad claims that Obama has requested talks and that is proof that US is weak and Western values are a failure.
“This request means Western ideology has become passive, that capitalist thought and the system of domination have failed,” Gholam Hossein Elham was quoted as saying by the Mehr news agency.
“Negotiation is secondary, the main issue is that there is no way but for (the United States) to change,” he added.
And so power is quietly shifting. Instead of the West telling Iran that they must quit trying to kill us and all of Israel for us to legitimize their government, now Ahmadinejad is demanding that the United States apologize to the world for our ‘crimes’ and that we undergo a ‘deep and fundamental’ change before he will talk with us.
Chamberlain waved his written agreement with Hitler in the air and declared there would be ‘peace in our time’ … taking away any obstacles that would make it harder for Hitler to invade Poland. Unfortunately, in our world, things happen much faster and on a more global scale.
