A WOMAN suspected of recruiting more than 80 female suicide bombers has confessed to organizing their rapes so she could later convince them that martyrdom was the only way to escape the shame.

Samira Jassam, 51, was arrested by Iraqi police and confessed to recruiting the women and orchestrating dozens of attacks.

In a video confession, she explained how she had mentally prepared the women for martyrdom operations, passed them on to terrorists who provided explosives, and then took the bombers to their targets.

Most of us have been mystified at the increasing numbers of female suicide bombers and have pondered about the ‘why’ of the increase. I doubt any of us suspected anything as vile as this perverted plot!

“We arrested Samira Jassim, known as ‘Um al-Mumenin’, the mother of the believers, who was responsible for recruiting 80 women”, Major General Qassim Atta said.

“She confessed her responsibility for these actions, and she confirmed that 28 attempts had been made in one of the terrorists’ strongholds,” he said.

Jassim was arrested on January 21. She is allegedly linked to the Ansar al-Sunnah insurgent group.

I think we can all understand wanting ‘our’ side to win this war…but to do something this despicable defies all reason. Jassam/Jassim didn’t just volunteer to be a rape counselor, she masterminded the whole thing in order to recruit more women. Women typically aren’t searched at our check points, making a successful bombing more likely. This woman arranged for at least 80 women to be raped, so she could then counsel them through the *shame*; convinced them that martyrdom was the only way to escape the shame of rape …. Iraq is just one of many nations that blames the woman for what a man/men did. The acceptance of this heinous act as a recruiting tool is incomprehensible! There is something truly evil ingrained in Muslim beliefs that allows them to hold NOTHING sacred!

Can’t help but wonder if this is a death penalty case in Iraq …. and if so, if the ‘mother of all believers’ will believe this was justifiable.
