Obama Snacks – Video
President Barack Obama is very popular in Indonesia where he spent four years as a child. Now it seems that his likeness has been used for a snack food that a consumer watchdog group there doesn’t like too much. Read more, see photos and video.

The Indonesian Consumer Foundation believes the snack could be harmful because it contains a toy plane that is not wrapped separately, and is therefore a choking hazard to children. The snack, believed to be homemade, shows a depiction of President Obama on the packaging grinning really big and giving a peace sign. President Obama appears to be spinning the globe with his other hand. Lovely.
“Obama’s” made their debut recently in the West Java city of Bandung. The President lived in Indonesia as a child from 1967 to 1971. This fact plus his promise to break away from Bush foreign policy has made him very popular in Indonesia. I think it is the first sign you have really made it in life when a snack food is named after you. Remember the Reggie Bar? It didn’t last either. From the Jakarta Globe:
Hayatie Amal, BPOM deputy for food safety, said the agency’s Bandung office would be notified soon to launch an investigation and ban the product if it was found in violation of government regulations. “Right now, we can’t decide on any action until there is a report by the agency’s office in Bandung,” she said.
She said, however, that carrying the picture of a state leader was an obvious violation of the agency’s labeling policy for food products.
Despite the trouble that the manufacturer of “Obama” seems to be having right now, I’m sure that will be alleviated by some very wealthy liberal backer of President Obama; just to insure eventual worldwide distribution of the Obama snacks. Obama snacks sell for Rp500 or the equivalent of 4 cents. Who says a penny isn’t worth anything anymore?

how much do you have to hate someone to so blatantly lie about them when contradictory evidence is so readily accessible? the package that is shown in the clip shows President Obama waving a flag that says, “Anti-Terrorist” and in the other he is quite plainly tossing a grenade (i don’t know at what, exactly)which is quite clear by the word “BOOM!” written above it in a depiction that even a simpleton such as yourself should be able to understand. that wouldn’t go very well with your hatred of the united states, i know, or your hatred for so many americans or, sadly, your hatred for truth.
