Obama has insulted yet another European leader. This time its Italy. Barack Obama sent a letter to Italian President Italian President Giorgio Napolitano rather than to Italian Head of State, Prime Minister Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. Read about it below.
My first reaction to the President’s embarrassing gaffs in protocol toward European leaders has been that he and the people are round him are just is ill informed, unsophisticated and have no earthly idea what they are doing. Its hard to fathom why the President of the United States would go out of his way to alienate the Heads of State in Europe. Surely, it was ignorance, arrogance, incompetence and just plain not knowing.
There is, of course, the possibility that he has avoided European leaders because they actually talk about issues rather than their wives and children. Its probably hard to explain the teleprompter when you are talking to someone one on one.
First there was the United Kingdom Prime Minister Gordon Brown, then there was France’s President Nicolas Sarkozy. Now its Italy’s Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
Barack Obama sent a letter to Italian President Giorgio Napolitano. The letter was worded exactly like the letter he sent to former French President Jacques Chirac. Exactly. Fausta has the translation and comparison of the letters.
The current explanation for Obama’s letter to Chirac is that he was simply replying to a letter from Chirac. That’s all well and good. That explanation would be as inappropriate as if Sarkozy had sent a letter to George Bush promising to work with him for the next four years. The left would be very upset about that, but they explain the same behavior away on behalf of Obama, of course. In addition, the fact that he sent the same FORM LETTER to another European leader who is not the Head of State in his country seems to indicate that this is not a mistake at all.
There are a couple of possible explanations for this bizarre and just plain weird behavior on the part of the President. He could just not know who is who of the leaders of Europe. He might not know that some of the countries have presidents and some have prime ministers and which is which. He might not know which one he’s supposed to send his little silly form letter to. I’m sure its quite confusing for someone who didn’t attend American schools and therefore would not have studied high school history and civics like most of us.
Another possible is that its intentional. And that is the truly frightening possibility.
After decades of socialism, European countries have been moving more to the right. President Sarkozy is a much more conservative leader than was Jacques Chirac. In fact, he ran on a platform of moving France away from the nanny state that has crippled its work force for many years. In Italy, the people elected Prime Minister Berlusconi, a conservative. As Prime Minister of Italy, he has worked to clean up the welfare state, open up free enterprise and clean up Italy’s immigration problems. Italy’s President Giorgio Napolitano is a Communist. He is a member of Italy’s communist party that is now defunct and out of power.
The common thread here is that Obama is contacting European leaders who’s political philosophies are more in line with his own. Communist and socialist thinking is the political thinking of the past. It has been proven ineffective and crippling to societies. America is a step behind by electing a communist president while the European countries are moving towards more conservative elected officials. Its a shame we can’t learn from their mistakes.
Obama is courting the old guard communist and socialist of Europe’s failed past and ignoring the more progressive thinking conservatives who are the current leaders in Europe.

“Its a shame we can’t learn from their mistakes.”
But how can the dumb masses possibly learn from Europe’s mistakes when they are taught in school that those mistakes are the best thing that ever happened in Europe? The stranglehold that the liberals have on education (unions) and what passes for journalism today virtually guarantees that people who do no investigation of their own will make the wrong choices.

Stoopidity, thy name be Obama… yes, I know stupidity is not spelled with two Os, but if you substitute the Obama Circle for the O as here with these mugs and stickers.
Sorry, promoted some of my own stuff.

Pretty scary isn’t it Scott. We are fighting an uphill battle. The establishment has the control of all the media, education of our youth. Its a pretty scary scenario. We have to fight the good fight, we have too much to lose not to.
