All the little infringements on our rights, on free enterprise and the capitalist system our country has functioned under for so many years are getting bolder and more aggressive. The latest is Obama forcing the resignation of a CEO of a major American corporation. Rick Wagoner, CEO of GM was forced to resign his position immediately. What an odd thing to happen. What happens when the federal government starts bailing out big corporations with multi-billion dollars and creating multi-trillion dollar stimulus packages to infuse into the economy? You end up with a mess on your hands. But other than that, you end up with a fat, engorged centralized government that has its tentacles reaching into every aspect of everyone’s life. At this point, we are seeing an new administration that is breaking speed limits on dismantling the American Republic and creating a society dependent on the federal government for virtually everything.
Who benefits from such a system of government? Not the people. The benefactors are those who call the shots. And so we find ourselves traveling down that path at lightening speed. Whether or not our great Republic survives this onslaught is yet to be seen.
Today, Obama forced Rick Wagoner, the GM CEO, resignation. After 30 years at GM, he has been forced to resign which is a brutal and disturbing reminder of the price that is paid for ‘free’ money. Now Barack and his merry men have control of GM. If they can do it to GM, who else can they do it too? What other companies will come under the auspices of this bloated government’s control? We are witnessing the end of free enterprise in America and its a terrible sight to see.
Obama and Biden have made no secret of their support of unions to the expense of companies. The question remains, who will the union workers work for when all the companies have been destroyed by the government take-overs?
So what happens now? Does the federal government take over running GM? Will they do what Obama has said he wanted for the get-go? Force the automakers to make ‘green’ cars, cars that are eco-friendly and don’t leave a huge carbon footprint (unlike the President’s huge carbon footprint - but he’s part of the Elite class, so he can and we can’t). That means forcing Americans to buy the types of cars that no one wants to buy and as an extra added bonus, we get to pay more for them to boot. No more pick-up trucks, no more SUVs. Its an electric car for you young man, and it’ll have a maximum speed of 50 mph and a gps system that tells the local Obama run law enforcement agency if you try to exceed that. So there. There’s your change.
You know how well government programs work. We’ve all seen it. Its a common source of humor. The VA hospitals, the social security offices, the endless lines at the DMV. The lack luster buildings staffed with people who get paid regardless of whether or not they know what customer service even means.
You wanted change, now you have change. Communism has failed in every society it has ever been tried. The American Republic has been an enormous success. And yet, we voted in a communist government and asked for ‘change’ in a system that has worked for generations and made us the most prosperous and powerful nation on Earth. Who can understand why a free people would do such a thing.
