Abu Mansour al-Amriki has put out a recruitment video on behalf of the Somalia Jihadist group, al-Shabab. Al-Shabab is a Somalia terrorists group connected with al-Qaeda. In the video al-Amriki (’The American’) promotes holy war in Somalia. The video was posted on a military islamic website. Read about it, see photos and the video here.
Abu Mansour al-Amriki
A video that features an American recruiting terrorists has recently appeared on militant islamic websites, including the Global Islamic Media Front, a site used by al-Qaeda and other militant groups. The video is about 30 minutes long and features a man who uses the name Abu Mansour al-Amriki, The American. He is thought to be a senior leader in the Somalia terrorist organization Al-Shabab which is connected with al-Qaeda.
In the video, Abu Mansour al-Amriki calls for mothers to send their children to replace fallen terrorists.
“If you can encourage more of your children, and more of your neighbors, and anyone around you to send people … to this jihad, it would be a great asset for us,” he says.
In the background another English speaker is rapping.
“Bomb by bomb, blast by blast, only going to bring back the glorious past,” the man chants atonally. “Mortar by mortar, shell by shell, I’m only gonna stop when I send them to hell.”
I have written before about the American al-Qaeda member who has put out English speaking videos in the past. Adam Gadahn, who goes by the name Abu Azzam al-Amriki, is a top propagandist for al-Qaeda. Born and raised in California, Gadahn has been charged with treason and has a $1 million bounty on his head.
A former Somalia jihadist who is living in Mogadishu, Somalia, says that Abu Mansour al-Amriki is the man who trained him as a terrorist. He trained in how to make land mines and explosives.
Ben Venzke, director of IntelCenter, the U.S says that the video appears to be authentic. It is filmed in a nondescript locale making it virtually impossible to identify where it was filmed. Abu Mansour al-Amriki speaks with a North American accent and has the appearance of someone with European ancestry.
Abu Mansour released another video a couple of years ago. Its thought that he isn’t the only American working with the Somalian terrorists. Somalia has not had a functioning government in years and is therefore a preferred training ground for islamic terrorists. The lawlessness of the country is evidenced by the number of horrific incidents that have occurred there, or based from there, over the last decade, including the ‘Black Hawk Down’ incident during the Clinton Administration in the early 1990s to the numerous Somalia pirate incidents in the Gulf of Aden.
