Keith Olbermann just can’t quite wrap his mind around the fact that Barack Obama may very well not be what Olbermann and his friend, Chris Matthews (’thrills up my leg’ Matthews) thought he was.
Olbermann has made a career out of calling Conservatives and Republicans ‘fascists’ and accusing President George W. Bush anything but the President of the United States. One of his biggest accusations against President Bush and Vice-President Dick Cheney and anyone who supported them was that they responded to the 9/11/2001 attacks on the United States of America with heightened security measures. Heaven forbid! The warrantless wiretaps on calls from known terrorists, for instance. The propaganda that the media has persisted in portraying that terrorists and enemy combatants have been tortured at Gitmo and secret prisons the United States runs throughout the world. Yes, I know, Olbermann and his friends have drank a lot of kool aid.
Now, it seems that some of them might be starting to allow their consciousness to absorb the fact that they have been used to promote the candidacy of someone who really does do the things they have accused Conservatives of doing in their paranoid ramblings. Is it possible? Could it really be that they have been useful idiots all along?
Don’t worry too much about Keith Olbermann, in the interviews in which he is questioning Obama’s use of unlawful surveillance that exceeds anything they accused Bush of doing, he and his guests, Howard Fineman and Jonathan Turley, still find a twisted, convoluted way to blame Bush for it. They justify Obama continuing what they categorize as ‘torture’ against the enemies of the United States by saying Obama is an ‘outsider’ who doesn’t want to alienate the CIA. It seems they don’t really believe that Obama is capable of thinking for himself and is simply following Bush’s lead and trying to keep a good relationship with the CIA. They don’t give Obama credit for having a bit of sense or ability to act on his own. Whatever he does is explained away by being someone else’s fault.
The concerns expresses, in almost disbelief is the level to which the Obama Administration is spying on American citizens and extending sovereign immunity to a level never before seen in American politics. This, my friends, reeks of fascism.
Wrap you mind around that Olbermann.
Here are the videos of Olbermann trying to figure out what is going on with Obama expanding government control over the people in ways no one would have ever imagined.
