The White House is insisting that Barack Obama did NOT bow to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. Nope. What you saw on the video was not a bow. Check out the video here and see what you think.
Did Obama Bow to King Abdullah?
In a what is becoming a typical defense strategy for the White House in response the multiple gaffes, protocol beaches and inappropriate behavior of Barack Obama, they are denying that what you saw is what you saw. Unfortunately for Barack Obama, his subservient bow to the King of Saudi Arabia was caught on tape and has been distributed widely on conservative and Republican blogs.
People have been outraged and repulsed by the sight of an American President bowing to a royal of another nation. As I have pointed out before, our forefathers fought a bloody war to free the American people from allegiance to any foreign monarch.
In fact, it is State Department protocol that United States Presidents bow to no one.
No, the White House says, No, you silly minions, it wasn’t a bow at all. “It wasn’t a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he’s taller than King Abdullah,” insisted an Obama aide.
Not so surprisingly, people aren’t buying the Obama Administration’s version of what was recorded on the video.
Obama preformed a “shocking display of fealty to a foreign potentate” and said it violated centuries of American tradition of not deferring to royalty.
In Saudi Arabia the media understands Obama did indeed bow in the presence of King Abdullah and appreciates the deference. “Obama wished to demonstrate his respect and appreciation of the personality of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, who has made one of the most important calls in the modern era, namely the call for inter-faith and inter-cultural dialogue to defuse the hatred, conflict and wars,” wrote the columnist, Muhammah Diyab.
Sadly, some will decide to make themselves believe his explanation. Most will forget about it by the next news cycle. For many, it won’t matter any more than all the other in-your-face evidence that Obama is not what he has pretended to be. You don’t have to look any further than the publics reaction to multiple scandals and missteps that would have sidelined anyone else’s political ambitions. Take the Reverend Jeremiah Wright as just one example.
Don’t worry. There’ll be another outrageous Obama moment in the next day or two.

Team Obama is entirely used to the idea that their rhetorical skills can convince one that - metaphor escapes me - things are different from reality.
In fact, they live in a typical Democrat environment where reality, right, wrong, correct and incorrect are all defined according to circumstances and judgments of each individual. In other words, you are your own judge and your own God.
So when they say this wasn’t a ‘bow’ they really believe it.

I think you guys should know that the saudis own more than seven percent of US economy. obama is actually doing you guys a favour by trying to appease the oil sheiks in case they decide to withdraw their investments. Hail Obama for a new state of the art strategy instead of bikering over what is insignificant to right thinking persons.

nass - the keyword in your anti-American rant is ‘appease’. How’d that work for y’all over in the UK when Neville Chamberlain was all about appeasement? For that matter, how’s that working for your Kingdom these days?

What the…do you guys ever listen to yourselves? How can you judge something that was done behind someone else? It was totally unclear. You didn’t see the whole incident, nor were you present when it happened. You don’t know what was said, nor do you know the entire context. Stop playing amature 007 and find something worthwhile to do with your time.

Once again the sheep have gone astray. I shall do my best to heard them to the truth. When it is said that we shall only bow to god, the word bow is meant as kneeling or being on one’s knees before god. The act of bending at the waist is also considered a bow but should be taken as a greeting of peace, respect, and understanding to your fellow man. Similar to a hand shake or a nod. Do not let your pride, anxiety or ignorance overshadow your ability consciously think and understand with compassion. Your fear drives you to these conclusions and darken your judgement with such blasphemous claims against an embassador of peace. I hope those who have mistook Obama’s actions as direct assaults against their religion, beliefs and freedom will call upon god to deliver them the truth. Remember that when Jesus was crucified one of the main reasons for it happening was the twisting of words and creation of lies on behalf of the jews and romans. They made a man of peace out to be an anarchist, yet he died for their sins with out malice or forsakening them to their enevitable fates. So settle down super right wingests for your personal interpretations may twist the very words of god to serve thy own purpose and that in itself is a sin of epic proportions. Does the ignorance of the masses ring any bells? I rest my case before the public and god. I leave you in love. Peace.
