Nour Hadid beat her 2-year-old niece to death. When she was arrested, the police made her take off her headscarf - hijab - for the mugshot. Her husband has stated its a disgrace to Islam that she was photographed without her headscarf and that he will sue the Chicago Police Department. The issue seems to be that she is muslim and was her mugshot was released to the public without her hijab on. Read about it below and see the mugshot and a video.

Nour Hadid murdered her 2-year-old niece by beating her with spoons, shoes and sticks over a four day period of time. The toddler was so badly beaten that she was covered with bruises from head to toe. A few months ago 26-year-old Hadid and her husband, Alaeddin Hadid, had taken in 2-year-old Bhia and her 4-year-old brother. On Sunday a week ago, Nour called her husband to tell him that Bhia was not responsive. He called the paramedics who found the child dead when their arrived at their Chicago home. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Hadids told police that the little girl had fallen, but an autopsy revealed she had died of blunt force trauma and her bruises and wounds were not consistent with a single fall. Nour confessed that she had beaten the girl. However, the family is now saying that her confession was misinterpreted.

When Nour was arrested and taken in for her booking photo, the police forced her to have the picture made without her hijab (head scarf) on. Alaeddin was outraged saying the photo is ‘insult against our religion’. No word on how he felt about her allegedly murdering their niece.

Orland Park police are “really going to be in big trouble” for releasing the woman’s booking photo to the news media after she was charged with first-degree murder.

The Hadids are Muslims and Nour “never leaves the home without covering up,” said Alaeddin, who’s vowed to sue.

By custom, some practicing Muslim women wear the hijab, or headscarf, and cover their arms and legs when in public.

In the mug shot, a bare-headed and obviously emotional Nour appears to be protecting her modesty with her hands.

“It is against our religion; we do not do this in our culture,” Alaeddin said.

“People have been calling me about this all day.”

Muslim groups have pretty much stayed out of this situation. However, a former chairman of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Chicago stated that he didn’t condone what she’s accused of doing, but that it would be humiliating for her to have to be photographed without her hijab. He says we wouldn’t expect a nun to take off her habit for a mugshot.

Well, as long as they have their priorities in order.

Here’s what Tim Blair has to say about this.
