While the main stream media and the far left have been having a blast with mean-spirited attacks on and attempts to destroy the reputation of Miss California, Carrie Prejean, it turns out the most American support her, including Barack Obama. Read about it below, see photos and a video of the report.

Carrie Prejean

I’m actually surprised that the polls only show 55% of Americans support Carrie Prejean, but then I often wonder who ‘they’ call to do those polls. I know I’ve never been called, but I have a friend in Boston who tells me he gets called often to answer poll questions. Maybe ‘they’ are more interested in the opinions of Bostonians than they are of Southerners. That wouldn’t surprise me at all.

Despite the fact that there seems to be a ridiculously low margin of people who are willing to say that they support Prejean, its still a majority of the people. It seems to me that this isn’t a moratorium on whether or not homosexual people should have the same rights as heterosexual people. Its not about whether Prejean showed some class and … dare I say it … courage, to say something that was certainly not the politically correct thing to say in a forum that is not conducive to those kinds of firebomb questions. Its not even about the lack of class and dignity exhibited by the pageant ‘judge’, Perez Hilton, who took it upon himself to interject his own activist agenda into a fluff pageant and then use it to promote his blog, himself and go into very nasty and mean-spirited rants degrading Prejean as best he could. Well, its the drama that keeps his readers coming to his blog.

This has really tuned into an issue of free speech, a right granted to us by the Constitution of the United States and under brutal assault by the far left. Free speech, as per the newest caretakers of our Republic, depends on what speech you use. Its relative and narrowly defined by them.

Its free speech when Wanda Sikes wishes death on Rush Limbaugh at what should have been a dignified White House dinner with the President. Its reason for slander, smear tactics, threats and more if its a Christian beauty queen who gives a politically incorrect opinion in a non-judgmental manner.

I’ve seen all sorts of slander on the internet about her. There are rumors of nude photos of her. Those turned out to be her modeling underwear for a catalog. But since the nude photo rumor was put out there, there are people who believe they are out there and that she’s a ‘hypocrite’ for claiming she’s a Christian. Just like with so many things in our culture, rumors are put out there as fact and many people just take it as fact. The damage is done regardless of what the truth of the matter is.

Okay, here is the topless photo of the country’s most prominent opponent of gay marriage. [Thanks again to The Deceiver]

Carrie Prejean said “We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite[-sex] marriage,” and then revealed that she felt a marriage should be between a man and a woman. She was vilified for that, called a ‘dumb bitch’ and worse.

Barack Obama had his press secretary, Robert Gibbs say this:

TAPPER: Does the president or the White House have a reaction to the governor of Maine signing a same-sex marriage bill?

GIBBS: No, I think the president’s position on same-sex marriage is — has been talked about and discussed.

TAPPER: He opposes same-sex marriage?

GIBBS: He supports civil unions.

TAPPER: Does that mean that he’s going to say or do anything against what the citizens of Maine did — did today?

GIBBS: Not that I’m aware of. I think the president believes this is an issue that’s best addressed by the states.

There’s no substantial difference between the two and as The Deceiver points out, he’s got more power over the issue than Ms. Prejean does. But hey. He’s Obama and nobody is going to threaten, smear or call him a ‘dumb bitch’. I bet Perez Hilton even voted for him.

The people in power in our government right now are continuing to present themselves as victims. Someone needs to tell them they have power, complete power right now. Who is victimizing them? Who is really being victimized?

These efforts to suppress free speech need to be taken seriously. Its Carrie Prejean today, who will it be tomorrow? How far will people go to stop others from saying things they don’t like? This is a dangerous trend.
