David Letterman has had a grand ol’ time insulting Sarah Palin lately. You can see the David Letterman Sarah Palin insult videos below.
I’ve never particularly thought David Letterman was funny. He just has never appealed to me. I’ve always thought his jokes seemed more mean-spirited than funny, regardless of what he’s joking about. He also seemed to me to think his own jokes were much funnier than anyone else thinks they are.
All of that seems to have gotten a lot worse lately. Or maybe its just irritating me more. He just seems like an old man who makes jokes in the vein of an adolescent bully on the playground.
He’s been on a roll about Sarah Palin since her recent trip to New York in support of causes related to finding a cure for autism and honoring William Seward, the former secretary of state who bought Alaska from Russia. First, he had her in his Top 10 list. Among the ‘jokes’ in his list was a comment about her ‘Slutty Flight Attendant look’. He’s calling the Governor of Alaska a ’slut’? That’s pretty low-down and low-class, not to mention misogynistic.
It gets worse though. In the monologue, he goes after Palin’s 14-year-old daughter, Willow Palin. He ‘jokes’ about her going to the Yankees’ game with her mother and Rudy and Judith Giuliani. His joke has to do with Sarah Palin’s minor daughter getting ‘raped’ and ‘knocked up’ by Alex Rodriguez during the game.
The leftists have had no problem attacking Sarah Palin’s entire family (including her very young children) since she came into the national spotlight. Can you imagine if the media went after Sasha or Malia Obama the same way they have gone after all of Palin’s children? They have reported lies as fact about Palin, her husband and all of her children. Its unprecedented, irresponsible, mean-spirited and disgusting.
I really don’t think David Letterman has a lot of room to talk about ‘class’. This is a guy who ‘knocked-up’ his long time live in girlfriend when he was in his 60s and waited about six or eight years to marry the mother of his son. He caters to the hollywood elite and would never bite the hands that feed him. But he has no qualms about going after Governors who have worked their way up the latter of success. I guess strong women who are also attractive are pretty threatening to the liberal left.

One. I don’t watch Letterman. He’s not funny. well except to the crowd that does follow him and they are pretty much worthless, anyway.

If Sarah Palin is SO silly and irrelevant, why the obsession? Clearly the Left noted her appeal, and are out to eliminate the threat- it’s not like it’s not obvious.
And she’s been highly successful in life while ignoring the left-wing feminist model… this helps to explain the extra dose of venom in the attacks.
Of course, the Democrats are plenty afraid of Palin coming-back at them in 2012 with a dynamic and complementary VP like Bobby Jindal… or visa versa.
And they surely have reason to fear her- Palin is the most popular governor in the country… are all those people idiots? Alaska was a pretty corrupt system until she stepped in. Her reforms took on entrenched politicians (inc. Republicans), a mafioso-style union boss, and Big Oil.
Wouldn’t it have been nice if Obama had been principled and brave enough to confront the corrupt Chicago Democratic Machine?

Instead of doing business with every last one of them?

Glenn I whole heartedly agree with you. The man stepped way over the line. I would hope there would be repercussions for him but I doubt this will happen. Perhaps it’s about time for him to retire and just go away in disgrace. And as for YouAreAllDelerious, if you think Letterman’s inappropriate jokes about Sarah Palin’s 14 year old daughter is telling the truth about what the vast majority of the country is thinking, well you are seriously misguided or you are living in another country other then the USA. Times are tough here but I know that the majority of this country would agree that Letterman was way out of line. If it was my daughter he made those comments about I would want to punch him right in the mouth and shut him up for good.

First, I watched the bit on TV news this morning and, without the back story that Ms. Palin had taken only her 14-year old daughter to the game, you can’t tell which daughter he was referring to. He simply says ‘her daughter’.
So, if he was referring to Bristol (the 18-year old), he’s guilty of being vicious, insulting and not funny. I’m not a fan but I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and not assume he was talking about Willow (the 14-year old).
On the other hand, if he had actually said ‘Willow’ or her ‘younger daughter’ or something else specific to indicate Willow, I would be joining you in calling for his resignation, and arrest if we caould find a law that applied. I’d also be standing in line behind the ‘Old Retired Seadog’. Even if just mop up bloody mess he’d make out of the SOB!

No idea why everyone who’s going to complain about it automatically assumed the joke was in reference to the underage daughter.. maybe because that’d be the easiest way to be indignant about David Letterman and that’s what Sarah Palin’s side went for in their interpretation?
Anyway, I wouldn’t say that she *is* a joke, because the way she’s raping Alaska’s ecosystem isn’t the least bit funny, and it’s even less funny to think she could run for president in 2012…

You people don’t know the real Sarah Palin, you see what you want, a pretty shiny object. She is capable of real duplicity, her remarks are belittling and she is often mean spirited and unkind. Until you live in Alaska and she what she does and doesn’t do, you really have no reason to idolize her the way you do. I think that when people hear jokes or so-called jokes about a daughter of Sarah Palin being “knocked up” they assume the “jokes” are about the daughter who was, in fact, “knocked up.” Perhaps young women–one used to call them young ladies–will re-consider their actions if they understand that, even in the liberal times we live in, fornicating will still ruin their reputations and subject themselves and their families to ridicule. Mr. Palin and the Old Retired Seadogs of this world would better spend their time guarding the precious virtue of their daughters than posturing about remarks–even crude ones–that result from their failure to have done so.

It does not matter if he was talking about the 14-year-old or the 18-year-old. It is all inappropriate, and if someone said something like that about my child, I would see to it that he was fired and/or castrated. But it’s not like the castration would do anything anyway, since he is so old! Why do people mindlessly follow the liberals? I met a man in an Arkansas hospital waiting area from Walesa, Alaska. He said he knows and admires the Palin family. They are human and are subject to the same temptations that we are. He gave me many examples of Sarah Palin’s positive handling of civic issues, both in Walesa and in the state. He assured me she’d make a good president. She certainly would move into the White House with more evidence of leadership and accomplishments than President Barack Hussein Obama. Her list of achievements and qualifications makes his look very weak.
I am not yet a Sarah for President enthusiast; might be later. Who knows who will run!

Unfortunately, you weren’t able to speak to any of the women in ‘Wasilla’ who palin made pay for their own rape kits, victimizing them even worse they already had been. Please read what is available to you on her record, there are several reputable discussions out there on the internet. Opportunists do not make good or reasonable political leaders. Mr. Letterman was never one of my favorites, and, now I know why. He is a typical liberal who has failing ratings and picks on a ninth grader to up his ratings. He should take a lesson from Bill Cosby who has always been at the top and never used degrading remarks to enhance his platform. He (Letterman) has no class, never did, never will. I am not surprised at his remarks, but, ashamed.

It is absolutely absurd that anyone on here can even suggest that what David Letterman did was not a big deal and that most are overreacting..it might not have started out as a big deal, what with it being ’something as innocuous as a David Letterman joke’, but the truth of the matter is, most people have by now heard about the joke and formed some sort of opinion about it. It is perfectly reasonable that Sarah Palin and her family be outraged by the comment. Who WOULDN’T be insulted if their daughter was crudely made a joke of on national televison? Don’t dismiss it as ‘just a joke’ or something that should only be expected from someone like Letterman. It can be expected- but it should NOT just be taken lightly.
As to all the people who dismissed the tasteless (not to mention not even funny) joke or even supported it, you are obviously looking for any reason to bash Sarah Palin. You are narrow-minded, ignorant, trash. I have no problem with liberals disagreeing with her views, but to explicitly insult her is representative of the disgustingly vast mob of liberals that hop on the wagon and decide to form narrow-minded views about strong women like Sarah Palin.
