It is absolutely absurd that anyone on here can even suggest that what David Letterman did was not a big deal and that most are overreacting..it might not have started out as a big deal, what with it being ’something as innocuous as a David Letterman joke’, but the truth of the matter is, most people have by now heard about the joke and formed some sort of opinion about it. It is perfectly reasonable that Sarah Palin and her family be outraged by the comment. Who WOULDN’T be insulted if their daughter was crudely made a joke of on national televison? Don’t dismiss it as ‘just a joke’ or something that should only be expected from someone like Letterman. It can be expected- but it should NOT just be taken lightly.

As to all the people who dismissed the tasteless (not to mention not even funny) joke or even supported it, you are obviously looking for any reason to bash Sarah Palin. You are narrow-minded, ignorant, trash. I have no problem with liberals disagreeing with her views, but to explicitly insult her is representative of the disgustingly vast mob of liberals that hop on the wagon and decide to form narrow-minded views about strong women like Sarah Palin.

I think the video was downright disgusting. Letterman should face the consequences of what he let crawl out of his mouth.

I 100% agree with everyone who mentioned the possibility of if something like this had been said about one of the Obama daughters-but wait, it wouldn’t have happened, because the media is outrageously liberally biased.

an 18 year old GIRL is any better or more acceptable than attacking a 14 year old GIRL.

Mr. Letterman was never one of my favorites, and, now I know why. He is a typical liberal who has failing ratings and picks on a ninth grader to up his ratings. He should take a lesson from Bill Cosby who has always been at the top and never used degrading remarks to enhance his platform. He (Letterman) has no class, never did, never will. I am not surprised at his remarks, but, ashamed.

I finally watched the video of Palin. What’s the deal? It’s the same jokes he’s been saying since he started years ago. Why now are people freaking out?

Chattyb, it is spelled Wasilla not Walesa. Please use the correct spelling. Unfortunately, you weren’t able to speak to any of the women in ‘Wasilla’ who palin made pay for their own rape kits, victimizing them even worse they already had been. Please read what is available to you on her record, there are several reputable discussions out there on the internet. Opportunists do not make good or reasonable political leaders. To all you haters of ‘liberals’ or ‘media’ or anything different then your own conservative ideals. We have a president, you may not like him, but your energy should be spent on helping your elected officials understand the will of the people in a peaceful non-violent way. Not in this rabble-rousing vitriol that you are indulging yourselves in. This is not productive. If you would take of your 3-D eyewear at look at our president, you will see that he is far more centrist and moderate than he is liberal. Please give him a chance to help our country, please work for the greater good and not for good of one opportunistic figure head. This whole letterman argument is simple part of the smoke and mirrors that are used to blind you. It is personal disagreement between the family who was insulted and the person who insulted them, it is really none of our business. It shouldn’t be held in public view. I met a man in an Arkansas hospital waiting area from Walesa, Alaska. He said he knows and admires the Palin family. They are human and are subject to the same temptations that we are. He gave me many examples of Sarah Palin’s positive handling of civic issues, both in Walesa and in the state. He assured me she’d make a good president. She certainly would move into the White House with more evidence of leadership and accomplishments than President Barack Hussein Obama. Her list of achievements and qualifications makes his look very weak.

I am not yet a Sarah for President enthusiast; might be later. Who knows who will run!

Ruth - you are so right. It seems like the left just mindlessly repeats the talking points that are put out there. They so blatantly manipulate the news and the facts that its hard to believe that people don’t see through it. I think a lot of them are afraid of thinking independently, they don’t have enough self-esteem to stand on their own. They want to be accepted by the ‘in’ crowd.

richard - since the left ‘won’ - then why do they keep acting like victims? They are in charge of things, and things are falling apart so fast it makes our heads spin. But still, the left acts like victims. Its mindboggling really. I suppose its gone past your notice that our enemies are lining up against us, the economy is going in the toilet, job losses are at all time highs, the national debt has reached all time highs, etc - all since Obama took office. Who is causing problems for this country? Surely, you realize that Bush is not in office and dems have been in control of Congress since 2006 - at what point will dems take responsibility for their own destructive actions?

It does not matter if he was talking about the 14-year-old or the 18-year-old. It is all inappropriate, and if someone said something like that about my child, I would see to it that he was fired and/or castrated. But it’s not like the castration would do anything anyway, since he is so old! Why do people mindlessly follow the liberals?
