But some are saying that Michelle Obama’s purse she carried, while on a trip to Russia with her husband Barack Obama, is just a ‘knockoff’ of the super expensive VBH shiny black alligator manila clutch that has a whopping retail sticker price of $5,950.
It was VBH itself that bragged to the world that First Lady Michelle Obama was carrying around their very pricey alligator purse. To many of us, that seems par for the course. After all, Michelle thinks nothing of paying big bucks for ugly tennis shoes or the most expensive weekly date nights in history.
However the White House was quick to say that Michelle Obama’s clutch was an $875 VBH patent leather clutch and not the more expensive alligator one. Now it seems, VBH is backing off their original story and is now saying:
“If that’s what the White House is saying, then it’s a patent bag,”
Ha! I’m convinced now, aren’t you? In fact, I feel so much better knowing that during this time of the great obama stimulus plan recession, Michelle Obama’s purse, a knockoff, only costs $875.

PETA can kiss mine and Michelle’s black azzes. They are cerainly not God nor rulers of the earth. Michelle had money before coming to the White House. She is not spending anyone’s money for what she wears but hers. Why haven’t we heard what other first wives are spending or have spent? Is it a crime for a black woman to wear nice things? White people are so damn jealous and hateful.

It has to do with people starving, and on unemployment lines while Michelle Obama is there being a HYPOCRITE wearing 540.00 designer sneakers! She’s helping to feed the hungry, handing them whatever “grub” is being served…then going home to the White House in those very same sneakers to a gourmet meal!!! Oop’s I forgot, while she is carrying her $5,950 Alligator purse!!! Hmmm, what is wrong with that picture??
We forgot date night…going out to date night, while others are looking through dumpsters for food, as they sip on expensive drinks and fine cuisine.

If McCain had won, we’d all be talking about Cindy’s 6-figure outfits about now, right? I say, if people have the means to spend, by golly, do so! For every bag bought in stores across the nation, be they $60 or $60,000, someone gets a commission in their paycheck. So if the First Lady-present, former or almost-want to stimulate the economy, let them! FYI: high-profile people often get things gratis for promotional purposes

I’m with #3 and #6.
If Michelle had gone to Goodwill and purchased a complete outfit to wear to the homeless shelter event, these people would have complained. If Michelle had sported a $1.99 clutch bag, these people would have complained. Michelle and Obama keeping romance in their marriage with “date nights” is a “no” “no” for some folks.
For whatever their reasons, there are people who will find SOMETHING to complain about when it comes to Michelle Obama. I personally don’t like reading these complaints and other negative comments because they are petty, shallow and mean-spirited, in my opinion. However, these folks have a right to express their opinions for whatever their reasons.
Personally, in my opinion, MICHELLE OBAMA HAS CLASS and is a FABULOUS FIRST LADY.
Don’t know about the purse, but I am thinking about purchasing a pair of the sneakers!

It’s her money for goodness sakes, whether she spends it on ice cream cones, puctures of Elvis or purses, it’s her right to spend it her way.
We really should not complain about how people WITH money spend their money. Without people spending money the economy would be in depression, not recession.
If you’ve got it, please spend and stimulate the economy!

Why are people complaining? When you make something out of yourself and you have money to spend it on things hell go out and spend it. We all have choices we make in life so forgive me when I say this, but most poor people in “AMERICA” not all, but most made a choice and that is why they are in the conditions they’re in now. How dare someone say because I made something of myself and made money that I shouldn’t be able to spend it. I see a guy (who I thought was poor) sitting on the sidewalk everyday begging for money. When I saw him later on today he was in the bank with over $500 that he took out and talking on a cell phone so don’t tell me about who and where I should give my money to. Yes I will give back to my community etc. etc. but I will have things on my own that I buy for myself, rather it cost $0.01 or over $1,000,000+ it’s money that I have earned, and have deserved from the hard work that I’ve achieved throughout life. And you can take that to the bank.
