An Australian geologist, Ian Plimer, has said what we on the right already know; global warming is urban elite’s new religion. Plimer isn’t some crazy Christian as his critics might think. He is critical of creationism as well.

There are scientists and those in academia that do argue that man made global warming is a myth. The majority of those however, have been effectively silenced by the radical environmental movement. Plimer’s global warming urban elite’s new religion theory does have merit though.

Many have made the argument, too, that it is rubbish to contend human behavior is causing the current climate change. And it has often been well argued that it is totally ridiculous to suppose that changes in human behavior — cleaning up our act through expensive slight-of-hand taxation tricks — can reverse the trend.

The slight-of-hand taxation tricks are what most of us who doubt manmade global warming think the motive is. Although there are plenty of “true believers” out there, who really do “worship” the earth and fear its demise at the hands of man.

Al Gore for instance, who has been dubbed the high priest of the global warming urban elite new religion, is probably just lining his pockets with all of the “green” hype. Then of course you have groups like The Sierra Club and others who actually believe they’re saving the planet.

Ian Plimer feels that the myth of global warming is easily explained away. His latest book on global warming called “Heaven and Earth-Global Warming: The Missing Science” details a short history of the Earth in which he presumably outlines various patterns of “natural climate change” throughout history.

The actual debate of global warming will never be over. It’s one of those “theories” that can never actually be proven one way or the other. Environmentalists say the science is settled, those who feel that climate change is natural just want a fair shake.

The problem is the true believers in Plimer’s global warming urban elites new religion theory will never give the rest of us that fair shake.
