Lucia Whalen, the 911 caller of the now infamous ‘Gatesgate’, was not invited to attend Obama’s Beer Summit at the White House to drink with the President. So why not? Read more about it below, see a photo and a video.

Obama Beer Summit

No Beer Summit For Lucia Whalen!

Lucia Whalen is the woman who dialed 911 to report a possible break-in at the home of black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. For that ‘Good Samaritan’ action, she was scorned, mocked and vilified as a racist. The truth is, she is intricatedly tied to the three men - Barack Obama, Professor Gates, and Sgt. Crowley of the Campbridge, Massachusettes Police - and their saga on racism that played out this week. They got a tour of the White House and a Beer Summit with the President. Yet for Lucia Whalen? No Beer Summit. The 911 Caller Was Not Invited.

While Henry Louis Gates Jr., Sgt. James Crowley, Joe Biden and Barack Obama drank beer on the South Lawn of the White House, the whole world watched for that ‘teachable moment’ on race relations in America that Teh One spoke of. Reporter-Zombies waited with baited breath for that one photo that would be in all the papers or that perfect soundbyte that could be looped over and over on cable TV.

I mean really… that teachable moment. It was a beautiful thing. Not.

Here’s the deal: Lucia Whalen, you can see a photo here, is the woman who called 911 on July 16th to report a possible break-in at the Cambridge, Massachusettes home of Professor Gates. She is the one who acted responsibly from beginning to end in this whole affair.

Gates? Exhausted from a 20 hour flight from China, he totally overreacted and played the race card first. Sgt. Crowley appears to have followed police procedures however, some say he was too quick to arrest Gates on a shaky disorderly conduct charge. Obama? He was the simply the worst. He stuck his nose into local police business, inserting an entirely inappropriate opinion without fact, backing his friend Gates publically over an entire police department, and blowing this into an international news story.

Lucia Whalen was not only a Good Samaritan, she was a Good Citizen. Her 911 call demonstrated that. There was no racism. There was measured responsibility in her report to the police. She did what any of us would want our neighbor to do if something suspicious was happening at our home. After her call, the police came. From that point on, it was the men in the story who started acting badly!

Yet for the real responsible person in this story, Lucia Whalen, no Beer Summit. The 911 Caller was not invited to the Beer Summit. No trip to the White House to meet the President.
