Government agents will be coming into your home and usurping your parental rights over child care and child development. Page 838 of the 1.000 page health care bill. Read more below.
A quick look at sections 440 and 1904 on page 838 of the House bill on health care will reveal the that “well-trained and competent staff” will “provide parents with knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor domains … modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices,” and “skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development.
This will be accomplished via government agents visiting homes with young children as well as homes of expectant parents. All this to provide parents with parenting skills as well as advise them on child behavior.
We are lead to believe the program will be voluntary. Really? On page 840 it says the state “shall identify and prioritize serving communities that are in high need of such services, especially communities with a high proportion of low-income families.”
In my opinion that statement is the epitome of discrimination. The implication is that the poor among us are less fit and able to care for their own children. The middle/upper class and uber rich are excluded. Does this mean money makes you a better parent? Sounds like our government thinks so!
I’ve known dirt poor folks with 8 children that have managed to live in clean, 2 bedroom cramped apartments, feed their children and raise them to be polite, well mannered, good citizens.
Alas…yet another reason this administration is in such a hurry to rush this bill through without anyone, you and me included, reading it.
Government’s real motives and rationale are quite simple, though rarely, if ever, stated. If one wants to control the future ebbs and flows of a country, one must have command over future generations. That is done by seizing parental and educational power, legislating preferred educational methods and materials, and limiting private educational options. It is so simple that any socialist can understand it. As Josef Stalin once stated, “Education is a weapon whose effects depend on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.”
Folks, regardless your party affiliation, we cannot let this bill pass! Isn’t there enough government intrusion in our lives as is?
We must let those that represent us, “We the People”, know that we will not tolerate government control of our children.
Contemplate the ramifications of such a bill…is this what you really want? Another dirty secret pg. 838 Obamacare: Gov’t visits home, instructs parents ? No!
Please, share your thoughts on this particular outrage with us.

I am getting weary from all of the scare tactics being used by some folks on this debate. Please let us has informed conversations about the facts. This silly speculation diminishes your argument to thinking people. The proposed initiative in this portion of the bill is one that is already used in programs such a Head Start and many of the faith based programs. Let me remind you that the Head Start program is a huge success in improving education in under-served communities. Even George Bush was an advocate of helping usher US citizens from a lifetime of generational poverty through education.

Scare tactics? I didn’t write the bill. You can’t change the facts, and the fact is, this is what this administration wants. be afraid of them, not those pointing out the truth.

Have we not long lamented over abused children? Have we not often said some people should have to take a test to prove they can be good parents? I have often said parenting classes should be a part of prenatal care.
Education is a good thing. Educating parents, poor, young, inner city, parents often don’t have a clue. How many times have we read about a baby killed for dirtying his/her pants? (age appropriate behavior/abilities)
I see this as a good way to keep children from being abused. I don’t see any evil here. I’m sure even the best parents will pick up a few tricks to be better parents.
I also believe the health industry needs to be revamped. and once in place will be tweaked and adjusted as time goes on. Everyone in this nation deserves health care.
With any luck this will be passed and they can move on to housing for everyone. The fact that there are mentally ill service men homeless is a national shame. Once people arn’t hijacked to pay for perscriptions perhaps they will be able to eat better.
The system is broken and it needs a fix right now! Health care shouldn’t be about the $$$$!

@Gem:
The problem I see here is they are not doing this to anyone BUT the poor for now. That’s just wrong.
