Navy Pilot Michael Scott Speicher will be laid to rest later today in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. The long-lost pilot’s body was brought home on Thursday. Read about it below and see photos and a video.
After 18 long years, Michael ‘Scott’ Speicher’s remains have returned home. The Naval pilot was shot down over the desert in Iraq on the first day of the first Iraq War, the Persian Gulf War, in 1991. In all these years his fate has been a mystery. His remains were found and recovered by Marines in Iraq last week.
Since he went missing in 1991, Speicher has been declared dead, then declared missing in action and then declared dead again. There has been speculation about whether or not he survived the crash of his F/A 18 over Iraq. Now that his remains have been found, there is still no certainty about how he died. It is thought that he ejected from the plane, but died on impact.
On Thursday, August 13, 2009, the remains of Captain Speicher landed at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station. Buddy Harris, Speicher’s best friend, escorted his remains from Dover, Delaware home. His casket was greeted by his widow, JoAnne, and two children. On Friday, August 14, 2009, there will be a processional from the naval base, past notable locations in Speicher’s life including his church, high school and college, and eventually to the Veterans Memorial Wall Jacksonville Municipal Stadium in Jacksonville for a public memorial at 9 a.m.
Later in the day, his remains will be finally laid to rest in a private ceremony at Jacksonville Memory Gardens,
Florida Governor Charlie Crist issued a proclamation in Speicher’s honor and directed that all state and national flags shall be flown at half-staff in Duval County, the city of Jacksonville and in front of the State Capitol today.

It is entertaining how the (Judeo Christian Controlled neo-con) media is trying to erase history by referring to this event as the “First Gulf War”
Actually it is the Second Gulf War… The first Gulf War (from 1980-1988) was against Iran (using the Arabs as Merceneries against Iran) and was also started by these animals who control U.S. and British foreign policy.
