I’m in the mood to rant a little, so I shall, it’s one of the perks of writing for the Right Media Network. Obama’s 9/11 Day of Service is a farce, like everything else conjured up by liberal democrats. I ran across two great pieces on Pajamas Media and The American Spectator that outline exactly what Barack Obama’s idea of service is. The 9/11 Day of Service is meant to do nothing more than detract from what 9/11 actually means to freedom loving Americans.
Back in April, President Obama signed legislation that established the 9/11 Day of Service, sounds good on the surface but dig a little deeper and you find something that speaks a little more towards the character and intent of liberals in this country.
The Obama 9/11 Day of Service was part of the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, a fancy way of promoting liberal ideals and ideas at the expense of hard working Americans. I’ll throw this in for free, the name Edward M. Kennedy will find its way on a slew of legislative bills from now on, just a thought. From Pajamas Media:
What’s happened, according to Vadum’s account, is that an assortment of hard-line radical activists and leftist community shakedown organizations have transformed Senator Kennedy’s arguably noble vision of shared commitment to national service into an alternative September 11 agenda seeking to eradicate the significance of the day as one of remembrance, mourning, and patriotic mobilization. In other words, the blame-America contingents at the base of the Democratic Party — with the endorsement of Barack Obama, the president of the United States — are hijacking our generation’s day of infamy, turning it into a “socialist holiday of community service.”
Matthew Vadum via the American Spectator sites an August 11 teleconference in which many of the more shady organizations were represented. You know, ACORN, AFL-CIO, Apollo Alliance, Community Action Partnership, Deep South Center for Environmental Justice, 80 Million Strong for Young American Jobs, Friends of the Earth, Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, Mobilize.org, National Black Police Association, National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, National Council of Negro Women, National Wildlife Federation, RainbowPUSH Coalition, Urban League, and Young Democrats of America, the usual suspects when Obama’s involved.
Interestingly enough, Color of Change took part as well; Van Jones Obama czar founded the group and they are currently deeply involved in silencing Glenn Beck for outing Jones as a communist and just over all being a pain in President Obama’s rear end.
As the Obama 9/11 Day of Service draws near, you won’t hear much about it. The groups are under strict orders to “go dark” as reported at American Spectator:
With the help of the Obama administration, the coalition is launching a public relations campaign under the radar of the mainstream media — which remains almost uniformly terrified of criticizing the nation’s first black president — to try to change 9/11 from a day of reflection and remembrance to a day of activism, food banks, and community gardens.
The republicans have long ago been accused of hijacking 9/11 for their own political gain. In the mind of these hard left radicals, Obama’s 9/11 Day of Service is designed to switch the mindset of Americans from patriotism, national security, and terrorism to community activism and environmental stewardship.
It appears that Obama and the hard left have hijacked 9/11 themselves. It’s a shame that 9/11 can’t just mean what it means, a terrible horrific day that for a brief instant galvanized all Americans whatever their political stripe.
The Obama 9/11 Day of Service is just another peg in the process of “remaking” America; that is unless we stand up against it as well.

Glenn Beck doesn’t need to be out there by himself. We need to all stand up and be counted. People are afraid because they’ll get the same treatment as Beck, Palin and anyone else that dares to speak truth to power. If we all stand together then the they can’t take us all down. The power shifts to the people because of our numbers. We have to do it. We have to get up the guts and do what we have to do to save our country!

You’re right Shea, it’s time to stand up for real. Just like the Constitution allows. Not violently but peacefully.
It’s pretty scary when you think about how Beck is being targeted by the administration. And these radical groups need to know that they don’t get to call the shots.

Day of service? Not this old seadog. I don’t owe anymore service to anyone, including the bozo at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. That account was settled on 30 September 1993, the day I retired from active duty after twenty years. The account was closed when I was transferred to the Permanent Retired List on 7 July 2003. So, I don’t owe anymore “service” as defined by the dear leader. Not ever.
And it the 11th of September also happens to be my birthday, of which number 55 is rapidly approaching.
Categorically, I had done more for the Republic by the time I hit 40 than “the won” has done in his entire life. I have the paper to back it up.

Glenn, first of all, thank you for your service.
But serving the tennants of freedom, and your country, never stop. Forget “dear leader”, continue to protect what you have invested 20 years of your life to create.
