Lawrence Eagleburger knows a thing or two about foreign policy, war and politics. You might remember that he was Secretary of State under President George H. W. Bush and served in foreign affairs under the Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan administrations as well.

He sat down with Greta Van Susteren for an interview and was candid and honest in his assessment of the Obama administration’s handling of both foreign and domestic affairs in the few months that Obama has been in office. As he said, if you listen to all he has to say, you’ll be completely depressed.

He describes the Obama administration as having no sense of the history of our country and how we’ve maintained influence and peace in the world. The Obama administration doesn’t know where it wants to go and therefore has accomplished nothing. Congress is in power, and yet can’t control the vote on any of their legislation. Confusion and disorganization seem to reign supreme throughout the halls of Congress and the White House these days.

I still am amazed that the President seems more concerned and spends more time attempting to get the Olympics for Chicago than he does with the American Soldiers’ lives that are hanging in the balance while he tries to micro-manage a war and ignores the requests for more troops made by his commander on the ground. I can’t imagine a way a President could look weaker and more impotent than to do what Barack Obama is doing.
