The Lost 2009 season promo has been released. See the video below.
Lost Cast
Just like everything else about Lost, the 2009 season promo video asks more questions than it answers. This show is maddening and addicting. The puzzle pieces are seemingly endless and there are so many ways the pieces can be put together.
Its really not been right for the people who run this show to leave us hanging for TEN months from last season till the start of the next season. That is really a bit much. But just when you think you are over your Lost addiction, they put out a teaser video to draw you back in. I’ve included the 2009 season trailer below.
From the promo, it looks like Jack manages to convince the other Oceanic Six to return to the Island - where ever or when ever it is now. It looks like they all have guns. It looks like baby Aaron isn’t a baby anymore seeing as he is walking around and asks Kate where they are going. It looks like there is trouble on the Island and Jack and the others are on their way to there rescue. Hurley says they should never have left the Island.
Simon Cowell’s X-Factor has been threatened by the islamic radical cleric Omar Bakri for supporting British troops. Read about it below and listen to Mariah Carey’s Hero (and lyrics).
Simon Cowell X-Factor
The X-Factor is Britain’s version of American Idol. Actually, the X-Factor came first. It was a hit so the show’s creator Simon Cowell, brought it to the United States. I believe he has since taken it to virtually everywhere in the world. But that’s beside the point.
This year, the finalists of the X-Factor are recording Mariah Carey’s Hero and selling wristbands. All of this is being done to benefit British troops.
Radical islamic cleric Omar Bakri has called this a form of hatred by non-believers towards muslims. The show has had to increase security and raise the terror alert. They’ve also contacted Scotland Yard.
“Some Muslims in Birmingham are wearing the armbands in support of British troops in Afghanistan,” said 50-year-old Bakri, who is in Lebanon after being exiled from London in 2004.
“This is a form of muadaat (hatred) of the kuffar (non-believers) against Muslims … and it has dangerous implications.”
“Even watching the show – those people are committing a form, a type, of mudaat (hatred),” he said.
Known for his fiery rants, Bakri pledged in December 2004 “a 9/11, day after day after day,” if Western governments didn’t change their policies.
Obviously, Bakri doesn’t like the X-Factor or his country. Since he is now living in Lebanon, I would think it would be simple enough for him to avoid watching it, but he appears to still be intent on causing as much trouble as possible even from afar.
Personally, I see this as all the more reason to make the recording, buy it, buy a wrist band and do whatever else could possibly irritate Bakri.
“If your opponent is quick to anger, seek to irritate him.”

The cartoon Family Guy did a show on Sunday night that likened the McCain - Palin ticket to the Nazi party of World War II. Read about it below and see photos and a video clip of the show.
Family Guy: McCain Palin as Nazis
It looks like the cartoon Family Guy is not exactly unbiased in its presentation of the candidates for President. The fact that the writer of the cartoon felt compelled to make a political statement through their cartoon is enough, but add to that the extremes he went to, that’s something else altogether. The depicted Stewie wearing a Nazi jacket. Underneath the jacket lapel was a McCain-Palin campaign button.
In the episode, two of the characters, Stewie (a talking baby) and Brian (a talking dog) are transported to Poland during the Nazi invasion of World War II. In one scene, the characters beat up and steal the uniforms of two Nazi officers. Stewie looks down at his Nazi uniform and notices a McCain/Palin campaign button attached to its lapel, remarking “Huh, that’s weird.”
The show’s creator, Seth MacFarlane, is an ardent supporter of Barack Obama. MacFarlane has given thousands to the Democratic presidential nominee and the Democratic Party, and even spoke at an Obama rally in Ohio earlier this month.
Its interesting that the left is intent on portraying the right as restricting people’s rights, when in fact, its the left that has gotten so extreme that they are doing whatever possible to shut down any opposition. Joe the Plumber comes to mind.
What do you think? Do you think this goes too far or is it just an expression of free speech? What if it had portrayed the Obama-Biden campaign as Nazi-like? Would that have been okay as well?
I’ve included some images and a video of the show below the jump.
Here is the trailer of David Zucker’s new movie An American Carol. It opens in theaters tomorrow, October 3rd. The movie is full of hollywood conservative actors (yes, apparently, there are some!) and takes on the liberal biases of hollywood.
Some of the actors are Jon Voight, James Woods and Kelsey Grammer. The movie takes the basic format of ‘A Christmas Carol’, obviously. The poor soul being visited by various ghosts of Patriotism is ‘Michael Malone’, a film maker known for making anti-American propaganda films - can you guess who that is? lol
It looks like a slap-stick comedy, literally. The Michael Malone character is getting slapped fairly regularly. It also reminds us of issues that seem to get lost in history in favor of sound bytes from historical figures that support whatever views someone is clinging to.
Anyway, you can find promotional information at their website. And you can view the movie trailer right here in the video below. What do you think?
Saturday Night Live started this weeks show using Tina Fey to make fun of Sarah Palin again. This time they did a sad little parody of the Palin - Katie Couric interview. Read about it below and see a photo and a video of the skit.
The Real Sarah Palin
Apparently, using Tina Fey to do an impression of Sarah Palin was such a hit the other week that SNL decided to do it again. The last one used Tina Fey as Sarah Palin and Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton giving a speech together. It was funny, even though it portrayed Palin as dumb and Hillary as bitter. It seemed more or less even handed in the humorous insults. More or less.
This time, however, they try way too hard and it misses the mark in a major way.
Tina Fey portrays Palin as dumb and unsophisticated. In spite of the fact that Palin is the Governor of one of our states and an accomplished businesswoman. Amy Poehler plays Katie Couric in this routine and is humorless and snotty, which is probably a pretty accurate portrayal in my opinion.
As Catherine Friar notes, Sarah Palin has never said she could see Russia from her house, but shows like SNL have said that she said it so many times that people will believe it regardless of what the truth is.
That was one of Hitler’s philosophies. If you are going to tell a lie, tell it often and it will become the truth. Apparently, quite a few people in our society ascribe to that philosophy themselves.
It seems time for these comedians to go back to comedy instead of trying to influence the Presidential election.
The need to pick apart everything she says and spread unbelievably cruel rumors about her and her family is only evidence of how she and John McCain have the far left terrified.
Paris Hilton has put out her own video in response to the John McCain campaign ad that featured her and one of her compatriots, Britney Spears. The video is here and I’ve included the text just for fun
So totally awesome, wrinkly old dude! I actually, like, think her Energy Plan makes sense. It certainly makes more sense then having everyone keep their tires inflated in order to bring down gas prices! Another thing that was, like, interesting, is that Paris ‘got it’ …. and Obama just got mad.
Meanwhile, here’s the original McCain ad that got the Obama people all mad and stuff.
Oh, and behind the scenes we find out that Paris, like totally learned all her lines herself and didn’t even, you know, like, have to have cue cards. That’s just totally awesome!
Thirteen Questions/Observations about the Lost Season 4 Finale
I have come to accept that the writers, producers, directors and actors of Lost are sadists. The teasers, cliffhangers, twists and turns are endless and excruciating. At the same time, you don’t really want it all to end, which probably means that those of us who watch it are masochists. Now they are making us wait another week for the ‘evening of Lost’ that will be the season 4 finale.
Last week’s episode left us with some understanding of how the various people who end up as the Oceanic 6 came to be the ones to get off the island. It didn’t seem like some of them to have gone ahead of others, so how did that happen? Jack, for instance, it wouldn’t be like him to get on a rescue boat before the others. Last week it started making sense. Different ones in different places all being lead to the same end.
I’ve read some spoilers, but I’ve heard false spoilers have been leaked on purpose to keep the surprises coming. I guess we’ll find out. I’ll not include the spoilers here - you can find them online if you want to know.
Lost Season 4 Finale - Video
Sun and Aaron are the only Oceanic 6 who are on the freighter. Last week ended with Jin sending her, holding Aaron, out of the boiler room that is rigged with explosives. I sure hope that Jin doesn’t get blown up on the freighter!
Does anyone on the freighter live? Michael kind of deserves whatever he gets, but what about Jin and Desmond?
Jack and Sawyer are together. They were at the helicopter but left to go to the Orchid to get Hurley. We know Hurley and Jack survive - what about Sawyer? I know he probably chooses to stay, but that leads us back to the question as to whether or not the people on the island survive.
Hurley made a statement in the last episode about moving the island would mean that all the freighter people trying to kill them would be moved too. Does that mean that the world on the island goes on, even with the bad guys there?
Most of the Oceanic 6 have had visions that they have to return to the island. That makes me believe that the island is still there … somewhere.
Surely we’ll find out who is in the coffin in the finale. I read a spoiler about who it was. I had thought it was probably Michael after I saw him on the freighter. I figured he’d get killed on the freighter and he would certainly be someone that no one would be too upset got killed after his betrayal of everyone.
Jack is a bona fide emotional mess. He’s now found out that Claire was his half-sister, which means that Aaron is his nephew and yet he still has difficulty being around Aaron. I think its because he’s guilty ridden about something.
It seemed to me that everyone in the plane leaving the island were not happy with Jack. They were in shock, but Jack was telling them what to say and they all seemed to be irritated with him. How’d that come about? Does that have something to do with why he feels guilty about Aaron?
Sun takes control of her father’s company and tells him he is one of the two people responsible for Jin’s death (I’m still hoping Jin doesn’t really die!). Who is the other person? Does she blame Jack? Is that why she was giving him the evil eye in the plane? What happened as they were leaving the island that created tension between everyone else and Jack?
The Others have shown back up and taken Kate and Sayid by gun point. We know that both Kate and Sayid survive. Does that mean that The Others really are the ‘good guys’ as Benjamin said when he let Michael leave the island with Walt?
What’s the deal with Benjamin and Whitmore? I wondered if it was a struggle between good and evil - but which one is good and which one is evil. With those two it would be hard to tell. Maybe they are both just evil.
Does Desmond survive whatever happens on the freighter? If so, does Benjamin use him to get to Penny to get back at Whitmore for the murder of Alex? (If you can follow that sequence of events then you are a really a Lost fan!)
I think the Oceanic 6 will somehow have to resolve their differences and return to the island. They all being called back. Why are they being called back if the island was safely moved? Why are they having to keep what really happened secret? It has to be a reason strong enough that they are all willing to keep the secret. How will they get back? Will they go back together or separately. What about Aaron?

I know that nobody has heard from the Dixie Chicks in a long time. We’d probably just move on from the sedition and treason they committed in order to increase sales on their albums.
The thing is … Cpl. David Thibodeaux was deployed in service to his country at the time so it took him a little longer to respond. He was busy with other things and the chicks were probably not really high on his list of things to handle at the time. Thibodeaux says much of what I’ve heard expressed from other men and women who have and are serving in the Global War on Terrorism.
Cpl. David Thibodeaux was in Iraq with 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines, when the Dixie Chicks partnered with anti-war group MoveOn.org in 2004. Despite the band making headlines with anti-war views, he didn’t know much about them, he says.
Nevertheless, Thibodeaux now sings “Not Ready to End the Fight,†an “answer song†to the Dixie Chicks’ 2006 anti-war hit, “Not Ready to Make Nice.â€
“I’ve seen so many good things happen in Iraq, and I don’t think it’s time for the war to end,†said Thibodeaux, a member of the Chemical and Biological Incident Response Force. “Anybody who doesn’t think there are terrorists out there should open their eyes.â€
Featuring backing music from members of Toby Keith’s Easy Money Band, the song has been played on radio stations across the country. A music video will be released soon.
How did a Louisiana native stationed in Indian Head, Md., find himself recording music in Nashville? It began when another Marine, Maj. Deryl Michael, and Tim Hernandez, a friend who had worked in the music business, watched the Dixie Chicks accept their Grammy on TV in 2007. They decided that night to write a response song and find an active-duty serviceman to sing it.
“It didn’t have to be a Marine, but it had to be someone in the military who had already been to Iraq or Afghanistan to lend credibility to the song,†said Michael, a staff secretary at Marine Forces Reserve in New Orleans.
Thanks in part to a 2004 Associated Press photograph taken of Thibodeaux holding a guitar in Iraq, they eventually found him in Maryland.
“I was a little intimidated when I found out who I’d be playing with,†Thibodeaux said. “But they were really great to me and even thanked me for my service. It was a great experience.â€
I know that I’ve made fun of Hollywood stars who have come out and said a lot of really stupid things. Of course they have as much a right to their opinions as anyone else. But since they are in the public eye and choose to make their opinions known publicly, they are subject to public ridicule. That’s how it works.
Every once in a while one shows some maturity when they speak out and actually make sense. Angelina Jolie has been no stranger to controversy and since she grew up in the public eye has had every misadventure of her life splattered all over the tabloids. It appears now that she’s grown up a little bit and is exhibiting a sense of responsibility to give something back to the country that gave her the opportunities she’s had and to the world at large. Good for her.
As I’ve written before, she’s shown signs of supporting our Troops. She’s also visited our Troops in Iraq as part of her role as a figure head for humanitarian efforts of the U.N. I have to give her credit where credit is due.
Now she’s written an opinion piece about why we need to stay in Iraq until the job is done. She bases her opinions from her trips to the region and her talks with our Troops and both American and Iraqi officials.
My visit left me even more deeply convinced that we not only have a moral obligation to help displaced Iraqi families, but also a serious, long-term, national security interest in ending this crisis.
and ….
As for the question of whether the surge is working, I can only state what I witnessed: U.N. staff and those of non-governmental organizations seem to feel they have the right set of circumstances to attempt to scale up their programs. And when I asked the troops if they wanted to go home as soon as possible, they said that they miss home but feel invested in Iraq. They have lost many friends and want to be a part of the humanitarian progress they now feel is possible.
It seems to me that now is the moment to address the humanitarian side of this situation. Without the right support, we could miss an opportunity to do some of the good we always stated we intended to do.
You are probably thinking this is just fluff - but it seriously takes some guts to back a Republican candidate in Hollywood. I figured I’d give Angie Harmon her due for coming out publicly and supporting John McCain.
“There are a lot more people in L.A. voting for McCain than you think,†Harmon said in the newest issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now. “We have an underground Republican Party!â€
